Dr. Altneu showed no interest in trying to diagnose my major complaint. He changed my dosage of a critical maintenance medication without explanation, did not order follow up labs and when the error finally became apparent, he overcorrected the dosage, and didn't order any follow-up. His sloppy and careless management cost me a year of unnecessary illness.

Dr. Altneu may be good for some things, but not for me. For me, it seemed like he "checked off the boxes". It didn't matter how much my symptoms were bothering me. All he did was prescribe pills. I had to practically beg for physical therapy, and at no point did he or anyone at the physical therapy place ever do any imaging. There was no X-ray, no MRI. It turns out I have an arthritic condition that's been debilitating and went completely undiagnosed with Dr. Altneu. It seemed like he barely believed me when I complained about the sciatica, and just didn't know what to do about the rest of my symptoms. I switched doctors and am in the Monroe Health system. I've had imaging done and am due for an outpatient procedure. I don't think this would have happened if I had stuck with Dr. Altneu. He's a nice guy who can look at numbers and knows about pills, but doesn't seem to want to really get in and help figure out something extra difficult or pass me on to someone who might be able to.
