Went to him feeling desperate, dealing with ADHD and severe anxiety and got medication that made my anxiety worse. When told so he upped the dose. Had the feeling he wasn't even listening to me, would sometimes ask questions and answer himself "you feel like this don't you?" which is unprofessional for a psychiatrist. Unprepared, had no idea on any studies about prescription meds or alternative. The fact that you can almost always make an appointment the next day is a sign that he's not a successful physician. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Found Dr Mendel to be knowledgeable, empathetic and helpful. He has a dry sense of humor which I appreciated as well.

Awful man. He told my friend that she had never had depression or anxiety and she does not have PTSD from severe child sexual abuse. Nope, instead he told her she is borderline personality disordered and is 'choosing' to behave in harmful ways and is seeking attention that she does not deserve. This was before he got pushed out of the public sector.

Don't go to him, whoever you are. You deserve better. He has ruined peoples lives.
