Dr. Ramneek Kumar is so gentle and patient to kids. I have never experienced such kind of handling from the other pediatricians, I had been so far. He made my kid so comfortable for check up (in high fever). My kid did not get fussy at all and I was amazed he did not cry and did not get scared at all as usually he does.

Dr. Kumar was fantastic! My daughter had her 2 week appointment and we were in the assessment room within 2 minutes of arriving after the nurses weighed and measured her. Dr Kumar was very punctual and had wonderful bedside manner with my baby girl. He recognized that she was hungry and insisted that I stay in the room, take as long as we needed to feed in private after our appointment. He was kind, courteous, very punctual, had wonderful front of house staff/nurses and is very knowledgeable.

I'm very surprised by some of the comments on here as he's been absolutely amazing with both of our boys! We met him at the NICU at the Misericordia when we had an emergency with our 24 hour old son and he was so unbelievably reassuring and supportive of what we were going through especially as first time parents. He asked the nurses to give us all these samples they had in the NICU and gave us his card and told us he would be happy to see us at this office to follow our son on an ongoing basis. It was amazing and we felt very comfortable when we were able to go back home.

Dr. Kumar has always been very caring, has listened to our concerns, reassured us whenever we were worried about things, assisted with proper diagnosis and care, as well as been very helpful in facilitating referrals to specialists including urgent ones!

After our 2nd son was born a couple weeks later we found out he had something wrong with his gallbladder. The original ultrasound was requested by our GP and she just referred him to general surgery at the Stollery (that's up to a 14 month wait!). We weren't even aware that it could be such a concern but as soon as Dr. Kumar found out about it he knew this had the potential to be life threatening and immediately got in touch with a pediatric surgeon he knew from working in the hospital. The surgeon saw us immediately the next day (he would've seen us the same day but I didn't want to drive to Leduc as the next day would be soon enough) and he even called me directly to find out what was going on with our son after speaking with Dr. Kumar.

We have continued taking both of our boys to see him - our eldest is almost 2 1/2 now and we have always been extremely happy with his care of our children. He always remembers the issues they have and has kept on top of their more major health concerns. He's also been very good whenever they've been sick with any colds or flus. And generally tends to err on the side of caution but not automatically prescribe anything.

I see one of the other poster said she didn't agree with his tips about milk and sure there's been things he's suggested to us that we didn't choose to follow through with as some things are personal decisions. After all, we are the parents so we kinda get the final say.......but we do like that he gives parents, especially us being newer parents, lots of tips and suggestions as some of them have certainly been hugely helpful!

Another poster said he was looking up symptoms about what their son had but maybe they didn't consider that this is actually a good thing? I know I really appreciate when my doctor double checks things to make sure they aren't missing anything! Please look up whatever you need to in order to be sure that it isn't something more serious!!

Then I see someone is also saying that they were referred to him by another doctor in the clinic to have what I can assume is a lip tie revision as this is what was wrong with both of our sons but we only had our older one's lip tie revised by Dr. Heit who is a dentist that does this for a lot of newborns with tongue and lip ties in the city. I don't really see how this is Dr. Kumar's fault in not being about to do this?? Obviously it was the other doctor and their staff being misinformed about what can be done in the office. I hope he cleared it up with them afterwards so this doesn't happen to anyone else. They probably didn't realize it was any different than a tongue tie which it's a lot different because of bleeding. You would want to do everything you can to avoid having a lip revision done any way other than with a proper dental laser as this way the bleeding is minimal.

Anyhow, we would highly recommend him to anyone and I unfortunately have a lot of experience with doctors and specialists. Hopefully this is helpful to anyone looking for a pediatrician for their little ones!

it's our first consultation and he was very rude, doesn't seem to care. He treats me like i'm a bad mother of not giving my 3 year old son milk. I was driving home and crying because i was so pissed. When he found out im a nurse, he told me that i should've known better. Not very professional. I wanted to make a scene and walk out but i just held my anger. He treat my son as if he's autistic. He shouldn't be a pediatrician!!! or even a Doctor!

I went there to get my 4 month old son examined. He was sick and needed care fast. Dr. Kumar was late by 45 min and then spent barely 2 minutes examining my son. I decided to never visit this doctor again. And even during the appointment he was constantly googling symtpoms. Bad knowledge doctor.

We were referred to Dr. Kumar to help diagnose what was going on with our 6 month old daughter. After an exam he booked her for tests and an appointment with a surgeon that same day. He really took the time to listen to her symptoms and eased our concerns. Wonderful doctor and really great with kids.

After seeing him twice for our newborn, we were booked in by another doctor at that clinic for an appointment to have a certain procedure done. We waited over an hour at the appointment just to have him walk in and tell us that he doesn't do that procedure and that we need to call a dentist.
We were very clear with the other doctor and the staff WHY we were booking the appointment. Waste of our time with a hungry newborn!

Dr Kumar does not listen and speaks over you even you are talking. If you suggest something he says no without even truly listening.
