Biography

Dr. Colasurdo is originally from New Jersey and received her Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from the University of South Florida, in their accelerated three year program. In 2011, she completed her four year optometric training from Chicago’s Illinois College of Optometry. After receiving her Doctor of Optometry Degree, she chose to further her education through the residency training program offered at the Newington Veterans Affairs Hospital, which she completed in 2012. Through these experiences she is knowledgeable in the treatment and management of ocular diseases; some of which include macular degeneration, glaucoma, ocular inflammation and cataract evaluation. She is also a current and active member of the Connecticut Association of Optometrists. You can check her schedule at our West Hartford eye clinic here. Dr. Colasurdo’s professional interests include being a proponent for education about the importance of maintaining ocular health, contact lens fitting (especially multifocal contact lenses), as well as aspiring to assist on a mission trip. She is an avid runner and has finished multiple marathons.
