I had my first consultation with Mr Shuhaibar on a Thursday.and he explained that I needed Bypass surgery.It was a huge shock,but he explained what he planned to do,and how I would be post surgery.also that there would be pain and discomfort ,but none ed to suffer.he rang my wife when surgery was completed ,said it went well to plan.that was a huge relief to the family.I had Quadruple bypass on the Tues,after our 1st consultation.The care from Mr Suhaibar and his team was First class.Nursing care was excellent.I spent 8 days in hosp.I wish to Thank Mr Shuhaibar and all the team for their expertise .skill and patience.It is 7 weeks since my surgery and I am walking 45 min.daily.

When I met Dr Maher Shuhaibar I knew I was in the right hands. He explained my upcoming bypass why he was doing what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. He impressed upon me not to suffer any unnecessary pain after my surgery. One week after my quadratic bypass I walked out of hospital having recieved care of the highest standard. Two weeks later I'm going for ten minutes walks morning noon and evening.

My Dad was admitted to the Mater with chest pains on the 7th January 2024, little did we know that he would end up having a quadruple bypass with Maher Shuhaibar... He explained everything to my Dad and Mum, and had a great relationship with my Dad which helped him through his time in the mater private. The operation was a great success and at 77, my Dad is fully recovered and back to his normal self. I cannot recommend highly enough Maher Shuhaibar, my Dad was in great hands and he is a wonderful Surgeon a conscientious and thorough person when analyzing my Dads results from scans, blood work etc etc...

My husband Noel met Mr Shuhaiber in the Mater Private when it was discovered he needed a quadruple bypass which he had performed exactly a year ago today 11/04/2023! We want to thank this wonderful, skilled, patient friendly expert who did a life saving job on Noel. His surgery had a lot of complications among them being Noel having Covid at the time which added to the risks & recovery journey. However thanks to Mr Shuhaiber he has made a brilliant recovery. All our questions were answered with reassurance and in language we both understood. We were always reassured and trusted his advice and he was always spot on! Truly Excellent Doctor : highly-skilled/competent, dedicated & attentive, warm, responsive, patient, down-to-earth, possessing a sense of humour.
I hugely recommend this impressive man, who - serendipitously / fortuitously - became my Consultant when I was diagnosed last October (2023) with a severe Lung Ailment called "Empyema" : Dr. Maher has performed Surgery on me 3 times in the past 5 months & has overseen intensive Medical Treatment, to bring me back to health - my sincere thanks to him !

I cannot thank or recommend Mr Shuhaibar enough. I was referred to him in Dec 2023 for a mitral valve repair. I’m barely 50 and fairly fit so this was a major shock. It’s a big decision to put your life in someone else's hands, especially when you have young kids waiting at home. He explained my diagnosis, our options and the risk /return. He was patient with me, answering all my questions, honestly without being patronising. Following the successful surgery in the new year he spent time with me before I was discharged fine-tuning my medication. The post - op care has been first class. I’m not going to lie, it’s been a challenging few months but I’m well on the road to recovery already. I’m very grateful to have had this fabulous surgeon and gentleman in my corner.

My husband Eamon had valve replacement surgery in December 2023. I attended the pre and post op consultations with him.
Dr Shuhaibar took time to explain what the surgery entailed and answered all of our questions.
When Eamon went to the Mater private for his surgery he came to his bed side every day without fail. He rang me when he completed the surgery and reassured me Eamon was OK and everything went according to plan. That ment a lot to me. He continued to take care of Eamon with attention to detail until his discharge from hospital and in follow up consultations.
I would like to say to anyone looking for a cardiothoracic surgeon, Dr Shuhaibar is a professional, a gentleman who cares about his patients. He listens to questions and goes into great detail with his answers while assuring his patients
We would like to thank him for the brilliant care he gave Eamon and making him feel he was in safe hands. He could not have got better care.

I met Dr.Shuhaibar when I discovered suddenly and just before Chrisstmas 2023, that I needed a double bypass. I found him to be very approachable and knowledgeable. I met Dr Shuhaibar with my father who was having difficulty walking up hills and was concerned about his heart. He had had some tests prior to this appointment. Dr Shuhaibar explained he needed a quadruple bypass and that it was urgent. He explained in simple English and was very kind and considerate, giving his time and ensuring that dad understood fully. The surgery was a suCcess and Dr Shuhaibar came to visit dad and ensured he was ok. The surgery was no walk in the park but by October my dad was back cycling 20kms per day and living his best life. We are eternally grateful that dad was given extra time in life and we have to thank Dr Shuhaibar for this. I would highly recommend him.
