Dr. Lila Amirali did more harm than good to my teenage son who was in crisis. Had this notion that he would hurt someone and sent him to (understandably) other doctors for help. What I disagreed with is when she didn't get the backup/diagnosis she wanted she kept on sending him to other appointments until she ran out of options all while keeping him in a locked ward. They never circled back to the original problem and only made things worse. I regret to this day ever taking him there and following her instructions.

The hospital stay with Dr. Amirali at the old Montreal Childrens Hospital was very unpleasant. She was not transparent with my diagnosis and refused to release me in the shortest time possible. I felt like a lab rat and she would almost bring my mother to court for not feeling I was ready to be released. Then they convinced my mother to not allow me to go back to school for one month then blame it on her and can the social worker to our house. Patient transparency was not the only main issue, she also revealed my diagnosis to a coworker(s) without my consent, hence violating doctor-patient confidentiality.

I had a very bad experience being under her care in the Montreal children's hospital. All she could care was for herself ......there was nothing she wanted to do to make things better for me.

I really appreciated the help of this doctor. My parents also really appreciated this person. She really helped me a lot and she has also helped my relationship with my parents. This was a problem for a long time. For a long time I really didn’t know what was wrong with me and this doctor help me learn more about myself and how to deal with all my pressures. I wish that more doctors were like her. She has a good team
