Biography

Dr. Lauren was born and raised in Baton Rouge and graduated from LSU with Honors in Latin in 2002 as the first student to defend an honors thesis successfully in Latin. She then went to medical school at LSU in New Orleans. Hurricane Katrina devastated New Orleans during Dr. Lauren's senior year, and she regretfully had to leave home to pursue a residency in Otolaryngology--Head & Neck Surgery at Indiana University. She is honored to have trained under Dr. Richard Miyamoto, a world-renowned ear surgeon. She then served as an Assistant Professor in Otolaryngology--Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Kentucky, teaching both medical students and residents. Working in a academic setting prepared Dr. Lauren to handle a variety of complex ear, nose, & throat problems. She is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons. She is happy to share her skills to help the people of Natchitoches and the surrounding areas.
