My husband has been a patient of Dr. Laura since November. She has been an amazing support to us as he is battling pancreatic cancer. She is caring, understanding and even helpful to me (I'm not her patient) It's tough paying out of pocket for her care but we are praying the vitamin c does the job!!

I am presently going to Dr. Burlen (Lile). I also went to her when she had her practice in Monroe. She is the most knowledgeable doctor I have ever been to. By taking her bio-identical hormones, my bone density has steadily increased. She is the best.

She left her patients high and dry in Monroe.Up and left her office, just did not show up one day and never came back.

If I went to her Monroe office my insurance covered it. I waited at her Spa office sometimes up to 5 hours. The worst thing about Dr Brulen is that she got so many women on the bioidentical hormones, made you come back twice a year for bloodwork(which was the only way you could get your prescriptions renewed) and then left her patients high and dry by closing her office. IT was terrible. So many women were depending on her. The hormones worked but after she closed her office, I could not find a doctor that practiced what she did. She made you feel like she was the queen of hormones, and as another patient stated, she was very high on herself. I would NEVER recommend her again as I did to a number of friends who went to her and got the same treatment.

I was a patient of Burlen's and she, out of 5 docs, was the only 1 to help me. I have a severe thyroid disorder and after going to her for a year and a half, felt 110% better. Was I upset that she left and closed her doors? Absolutely. I did call the number that was given once she left, and received all the information that I needed (records included). Everyone goes through things in life and we shouldn't judge as we don't know what was happening behind closed doors!! If it was something we were going through, would you disclose it to everyone? If it meant you had to leave for your health, sanity, safety, or what have you, would you have waited and given notice?? I think not!! And I have to say, I will gladly keep seeing her since she has been the only one to help me and my health!!

She walked out on her patients, showed up for an appointment and the doors were locked. Another time waited in the office and she never showed up.Not only did she do this to the people with office appointments she did this to her patients in the hospital....SHE ABANDONED HER PATIENTS. Everyone can understand going through life crisis, but to just abandon your patients that you are treating and some were cancer patient, heart patients....we just show up for our appointments and the doors were locked and she never came back. She was a good doctor but I would not trust her again.

Dr.Burlen led me into her office with hopes of helping me out of a very dark tunnel. I completed blood tests and purchased pills that were all out of pocket. I took her hormone pills that were suppose to help me live a better quality of life. She gave me hope only to leave me standing at her office door with the door locked! If you are looking and hoping that she can make you feel better, let me tell you, run the other way. Turn around now before you are sucked in. The biggest changed I made from Dr. Burlen was that my money in my purse left and went into hers. I feel betrayed, abandoned and left to pick up my little pieces again. I strongly urge you to look for someone else, anyone else. Because if you are like me, looking and hoping that this woman can change your life for the better, then you are as wrong as I was. Please look elsewhere.

I'm skeptical of Dr. Burlen. I took bio-identical hormones for 2 years and developed lung cancer. I don't think enough scientific data is out to prescribe these drugs. BEWARE.

I was not only a patient, I was also an employee. The most recent comments about Dr. Burlen are completely true. She was always late...and so full of herself. She put on a good face for her patients, but treated her staff like indentured servants...then skipped town owing many of them weeks of wages, health insurance premiums deducted but not paid, and numerous lenders, suppliers and contractors unpaid and seeking restitution. Her so-called illness that forced her office to close...it was kidney stones that had her miss 3 days of work...not the 5 weeks she claimed to be out. She was working every day in her pharmacy, cranking out scrips to pad her pockets. She is now driving a brand new 2008 Arcadia, still trying to divorce her husband Randy, while dating her new 54 year old stud Jerry and pretending to live in the lap of luxury while teetering on bankruptcy. I was a patient of hers as well and have found no reliable way of reaching her for my records. She left a phone number with the local hospital and newspaper so people could call her to get their records. I've called several times and have never gotten a call back. I am considering hiring an attorney.
