Dr. Barbosa is a natural at speaking as many have learned recently on KTUU, with the announcement of Kikkan. But better yet, she really knows her field of BREAST CARE, which is ever changing. I am always hearing how beautiful her surgeries are plus her bed side manner is amazing! Once you are a patient of DR's, you are apart of her family. I have heard that surgeons do not want their patients to contact them, especially on the weekends but Dr. Barbosa always keeps in contact with her patients. It is SO nice that Alaska has quality care especially for breast issues from an abscess to breast cancer & everything in between. Please understand that you do not always have to have a mastectomy so go the extra mile to "know your options." Take the time to learn about Oncoplastic surgery as well. It's your body - be in the know!

Dr Barbosa is the perfect answer for every husband who's wife has breast cancer. Certainly the patient has worries but so does the husband. Dr Barbosa treats and cares for my wife (and me) in her own special way. She instills confidence and allows a couple to see a positive future. If you need to see a surgeon for breast surgery, in my opinion, you must see Dr Barbosa. We love her. She really rates six stars or more.

Dr. Barbosa was the" first Fellowship Trained Breast" Surgeon in Alaska. Originally from New York, she has made Alaska her home. She has brought numerous up-to-date techniques and equipment to Alaska. Constantly researching the latest & greatest to bring to her patients she is very knowledgeable. She is also Oncoplastic trained.
