Biography

Dr. Kamran Ahmed is anAssociate Member with Tenure in the Department of Radiation Oncology andDepartment of Immunology at Moffitt Cancer Center and an Associate Professor inthe Department of Oncologic Sciences at the University of South Florida. He isthe Section Chief for the Breast Radiotherapy Service at Moffitt Cancer Center.He is also the Program Director for the Advanced Radiation Oncology ResearchFellowship. Dr. Ahmed received his medical degree from the Mayo Clinic Schoolof Medicine in Rochester, MN and completed an internship at Baylor College ofMedicine before completing his radiation oncology residency at Moffitt CancerCenter. Dr. Ahmed treats patients with breast and gynecologic cancers. Dr.Ahmed's primary research interest is in studying the synergism betweencombinations of immunologic and targeted agents with radiation therapy toimprove clinical outcomes. He is the principal investigator of severalmulticenter clinical trials in the management of advanced disease presentationsand brain metastases with novel therapeutics and radiation therapy. He is alsointerested in studying personalized radiation delivery through genomic andradiomic approaches to tailor therapy to the patient. He serves on multiplejournal editorial boards. Dr. Ahmed has published over 100 peer-reviewedmanuscripts and has presented his research nationally and internationally.
