I rated Dr. Jon Wareham on October 9/17 and neglected to double check my rating for accuracy. As a result I have given Dr. Wareham's staff a low rating when it should be a 5- excellent. Michele was great to deal with in getting us set up with our vision therapist. She made the process pleasant. She also dealt with the financials and I found her to be a great help. Our vision therapist, Christy, I could not possibly have been happier with! Thank you

I am glad I was referred to Dr wareham the prism glasses that he refered has given me life. I am also going through the vision therapy and I am getting better and feel better everyday. I agree with all the comments below except the negative comments in the starting they seem to have not understood how the treatment works. I am a case of post severe concussion syndrome with vision disorders. I suffered for 2 years with severe headaches and sleepless night with fatigue but now I am feeling good and am hopeful after my remaining treatment of 3 months I will not need glasses. Thank you Dr Wareham.

My granddaughter has been struggling to read since Kindergarten. She has been below average in school as she is ADHD- dyslexia. After meeting with doctor Wareham and finding out that her vision wasn't properly coordinating with what she was seeing and reading we went through 7 months of intense vision sessions. My granddaughter's Grade 6 report card was all A's except for one B+. What a transformation and I am so pleased with Dr. Wareham and his assistants Christy and Adam for their time, kindness and professionalism through this process.

If your child is having trouble with reading - this is the optometrist to see. He will give your child a thorough check up and look for things other optometrists will miss. See him first. You will be glad you did. We certainly are!

Dr. Wareham was the only medical professional who took the time to understand my child's strengths and challenges. Prior to working with Dr. Wareham, we paid for two different psycho educational assessments, OT assessments and treatment, private tutors, and put our son on medication that caused serious side effects - none of this resulted in improvements in his reading or writing or general wellbeing in the classroom. Dr. Wareham's entire program has cost us much less than all of those assessments that provided no treatment or support. Our son now reads - and enjoys it- and can write easily and school has gone from being a miserable, demoralizing experience to something that he can engage in meaningfully. This therapy would be a bargain at twice the price as far as we are concerned. Our results are quantifiable and we couldn't be more pleased. Dr. Wareham is a pioneer, and we are grateful for his knowledge, commitment, and integrity.

I suffered a debilitating concussion, and as a result had double vision. The double vision amplified my symptoms and exhausted me. After meeting with Dr Wareham I started to wear prismatic lenses, which helped me to function much better. It took months of hard work, but seeing Dr Wareham (and Christy, Adam and Michelle) has helped me to get my life back to normal.
My experience with this Dr and the office staff in general has been overwhelmingly positive. I'm sorry to read some of the comments below, none of what those negative posts have said reflect my experience in the slightest. Yes, it takes dedication, effort and patience- it doesn't happen overnight, and you can't expect that. After my first half hour visit, the exercises I did left me in rough shape for about 4 days. You won't notice much in the real world for awhile, it took me about nine months to stop wearing my glasses, and now a year later my eyes are back to where they were before my accident. Yes, it costs money, but to me it was pretty cheap in exchange for getting my vision back!

Dr. Jon Wareham was absolutely AMAZING! My daughter had been diagnosed with dyslexia and we completed the vision therapy program with huge success! Dr. Wareham is so knowledgeable and always puts the patient first. He sometimes runs late for appointments.....but this is only because he takes all the time necessary to be 100% thorough with the patient and families. I am saddened to see some of the below reviews. Vision therapy takes hard work, dedication and commitment by not just the patient but all other family members. Dr. Wareham is not trying to scam anyone. He is trying to help individuals retrain their eyes in order to help them and prevent surgery. I personally had to have surgery to fix my eyes approximately 20 years ago. I wish Dr. Wareham had been in business back then....I would have much preferred to have done vision therapy than the nightmare I experience with an irreversible surgery. Sounds like the people who wrote the comments below did not either educate themselves properly on the subject or did not put the full efforts and dedication into the program. Please tell me how a doctor can predict the exact amount of time that the program will take for each individual when he cannot know how much time and effort the individual is willing to put in? Not to mention the potential for other learning or behavioural issues which could also directly impact someone's progress rate. Dr. Wareham is very reasonable and just wants to help the patient. Human nature is to always talk about the negative and not the positive and some of the below comments are not reflective in the least of what we saw from Dr. Wareham....please do not let the below discourage you from potentially making one of the best decisions possible for you or your child.

It was an educational psychologist who first introduced us to developmental optometry. Our children have learning difficulties and one of the recommendations was to find an optometrist with special training to further assess their visual skills. It took a couple years for our regular optometrist to learn of Dr. Wareham and refer us to him. His office is an hour's drive from our home. A bit skeptical at first, my husband and I attended an informative workshop at the Pupils Vision clinic in February 2015. We found the doctor and his staff very knowledgeable and genuinely interested in helping people. They stayed late to answer our many questions. We left hopeful that vision therapy may indeed be a piece of the puzzle. There was a three month wait and then three of our children were assessed. When Dr. Wareham told us that only one of the three would benefit from vision therapy, we felt he was trustworthy. Our 11 year old daughter went on to complete about 9 months of vision therapy for accommodative insufficiency & infacility, binocular vision dysfunction, and oculomotor dysfunction. We feel the cost and weekly trips were well worth the investment in her vision. The first indication that vision therapy was going to help her was the fact the she actually WANTED to do the exercises at home. This was surprising to us because, at that point, our bright daughter was very unmotivated and unenthusiastic about anything that involved practice or learning. As she progressed through the program, she realized that unknowingly, she had been seeing double all her life! The sweet therapist who worked with her was very encouraging, clear in her instructions, and professional. Half way through the 9 months, Pupils Vision accommodated changes to our schedule by switching our weekly visits to another day. Since our daughter's therapist did not have an opening on that day of the week, she was given a new therapist. Our daughter had grown so attached to the first lady who had been working with her that she cried. However, she soon felt comfortable with the new lady. On the way to her final appointment, our daughter remarked, "I thought vision therapy would do something for me but it really exceeded my expectations!" Today she is very engaged in her schoolwork and even enjoying new interests such as sports. Her most recent psycho-educational report says this: "A's processing speed index scores as noted on the WISC-IV are now in the above average range. Processing speed assesses children's abilities to focus attention and quickly scan, discriminate between, and sequentially order visual information. A's fluency skills in reading and writing have also grown. This growth can probably be attributed to the changes in her visual system attained through vision therapy. ...Perceptually A's visual perceptual skills have also grown specifically in visual discrimination (from the 5th percentile to the 98th!), visual memory (from the 16th percentile to the 50th) and visual closure skills (from the 16th percentile to the 50th)."
We not only recommend this doctor, we are also planning to return to his clinic again with our younger daughter who was just diagnosed with visual processing difficulties.

Very positive experience. Front-line staff are incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, caring and accommodating. I would recommend his services to anyone. Dr. Wareham takes the time to thoroughly assess the whole visual system and not just if you can read a chart. His treatment plan though costly has permanent positive results. Wish I had discovered his talents much sooner.

He unnecessarily suggests reading glasses for kids. I have heard that from other and personal experience from my own children. I will not go back.
