If your child has experienced sudden-onset OCD with or without tics, please avoid this doctor and CCH. There are 2 standards of care. One involves evaluation for infections, incl. strep and Lyme Disease, as well as immune system and autoimmune testing, and antibiotic treatment.The second, which Dr. Gilbert proscribes, involves putting your child on psychotropics for potentially the rest of their life.Our child was correctly diagnosed and treated via the first standard. I waited 3 months for an appointment with Dr. Gilbert. My son had a movement reaction to a medication he took for a short time. Dr. Gilbert only focused on the movement aspect. He was not open to questions, suggestions and failed to look at the whole picture. He discounted the movement reaction by saying it was not the medicine. (hello--I was there to live it and see it) I felt the visit was a waste of time. I was very disappointed.

Unfortunately, Don Gilbert does not have expertise in autoimmune tourettes. He comes across knowledgeable, but he had to refer us out of town to have our sone treated for PANDAS. This is embarrassing for a facility of the caliber of Childrens hosp.
