Great surgeon, but everything else was absolutely messy. From requesting the wrong blood work prior to surgery, to physical therapists who would not listen to his orders after surgery, to this office diagnosing me wrong - what a mess. As a patient, you deserve better. Surgery is a major endeavor for an entire family. And you are just a number here and fall through the cracks. This place is a major problem waiting to happen. I ended up going to a different doctor for my rehabilitation and recovery, and it was the best decision I made for myself. However, no patient should ever be put in that position. I do not recommend.

And of course they continuously delete my review, because it’s a bad one. However, I will make sure it is there. I wouldn’t rely on the reviews for an adequate assessment. They delete the bad ones.
    Stay away from this place.

Everything about my visit was perfect. I had no waiting time. My appointment was for 12:45 and that's when I was taken in to talk to Kristina, Dr. Hodgkins Athletic Trainer. This was perfect for me as I play pickleball and was impressed to see that Dr. Hodgkins has an Athletic Trainer that is knowledgeable. She took my information and the MRI that I had just recently had along with one of 3 years ago. I was then taken in for about 6 xrays of my ankle. Again the tech was very proficient and treated me with respect and kindness. I then saw Kristina along with Dr. Hodgkins. He studied my MRI and examined my foot. Before going to Dr. Hodgkins I went on the web for the entire US to find the best doctor for me. I was then also given a high recommendation by another doctor friend of mine who did research and came up with Dr. Hodgkins. I feel - I found the best! I went in thinking my only course of action would be surgery. I have had this injury (Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction) (from being flat footed all my life) for seven years. I have been in a boot, had prolotherapy. Had a subtalar implant (don't do this!) and my husband has wrapped my foot for 6 years to make it able for me to play tennis for about 3 of those years. Then my injury increased and I switched to pickleball which is easier on my ankle for two reasons - you don't go up on your left ankle to serve, and you don't run as far. As it turns out - pickleball is just as much fun! Anyway - I really thought that surgery was the only option left. Dr. Hodgkins told me that yes - that might be in the future, but he would NOT do it yet. He suggested injection, then in a boot for 2 weeks and then 2 weeks of physical therapy. Later, if this is not working I can consider ankle fusion. So - he is not out to operate if he does not think it is the first best solution. I just went today - so I will try what he has suggested and go from there. Everything was smooth from the first time I called to make an appointment. I would highly recommend him. He is into sports and you can tell it. For a person interested in sport and who needs an orthopedic ankle surgeon, I would highly recommend Dr. Hodgkins. Thank you for your honest, educated opinion Dr. Hodgkins!!

I am a Registered Nurse, so I did my research before going to see Dr Hodgkins. My research proved that Dr Hodgkins is an excellent Orthopedic Surgeon. I am here to testify that Dr Hodgkins did an excellent job with my surgery. Dr Hodgkins is very knowledgeable, courteous and polite. My foot looks great. My bunion is gone and my toe is straight. Dr Hodgkins and his staff were always available to me when ever I had a question or a concern. I am so thankful to Dr Hodgkins and his entire staff.

Very organized and efficient. Minimal wait time. Personable interaction with the staff and the doctor. Very happy. Know it is hard to get an appt to see him, but it is worth the wait. Mine was not a life threatening situation, so it was ok to wait.

The office and staff for Dr. Hodgkins was very competent and fast. I was in and out in under an hour and given information on how to reach them if necessary for an uncomplicated fracture. This was much appreciated.

    Biography

Dr. Hodgkins is a highly trained and specialized surgeon rather than a ‘jack of all trades, master of none’ surgeon. He concentrates on a very narrow area of surgical practice which allows him to perfect his techniques to be a high volume surgical expert in these conditions giving his patients the best chance of great results. Dr H specializes in the treatment of foot and ankle fractures, non surgically when possible, and with minimally invasive surgery when necessary. He is most passionate about the comprehensive but minimally invasive surgical treatment of ankle fractures. He also focuses on the minimally invasive surgical treatment of achilles tendon ruptures, bunions and hammer toes and also arthroscopic surgery for sports injuries such as osteochondral lesions and ankle instability using biologics and internal brace. He also specializes in fusion and replacement surgeries for arthritic conditions of the foot and ankle. Please note Dr Hodgkins does not treat most non surgical conditions of the foot and ankle, if you need surgery, Dr H is your high volume minimally invasive surgical expert!
