Very disappointed with the surgery outcome and post surgery response from Janssen. My wife went in for shoulder replacement surgery about 2 months ago. She was in pain and had limited motion in her arm,but had full use and feeling in her hand and fingers. After surgery, the pain has decreased some, however she has not gained any motion in her arm and has lost feeling and mobility in her hand. After intense physical therapy Janssen has told her she may not get the mobility back and that she may need neurological surgery on her arm. Janssen took no responsibility for this condition. There is always risk in surgery, but anticipating debilitating outcomes is not one of them. This surgeon messed up plain and simple. His post surgery response is arrogant and demeaning. Think twice before using him.

I have been operated on by both Dr. larry Parker & Dr. Jansen, there is no comparison Dr. Jansen is the best doctor I've ever been to. Dr. Jansen has done 3 knee replacements on me, the third having nothing to do with any mistakes on his part. During the third one he had to put a rod in my leg from knee to ankle, & also discovered I had a torn tendon on my knee. The pain after was horrible but he did a great job. I went from barley being able to walk 15 ft to being able to get back to the gym. There are things im unable to do but that has to do with the fact that I have knee replacements nothing concerning Dr Jansen, he's given me back the ability to get back to an enjoyable life. Dr. Jansen is great, he's the guy you want.

I highly recommend this doctor. I am approaching 50 years of age, and my knees and shoulders were starting to feel the years of wear and tear. Long story, short, two actions on my part fixed the problems because Dr. Janssen took time to ask the right questions, patiently listen to me, and make sound suggestions. Consequently, I changed my heavy weight lifting workout routine to one with lighter weights and more repetitions. And, I made a lifestyle change to start sleeping eight hours at night to ensure my body gets the needed daily repair that can only be found with good sleep. As a result, I’ve dropped 20 lbs. of unnecessary body bulk that I accumulated over the years from heavy weight lifting. Plus, I increased my heart health by adding the repetitions. Also, the sleep improvement has helped me overcome a fatigue problem I’ve been battling for years. And the best part, no surgery and no pain meds. Dr. Janssen helped me help myself and that’s the best kind of doctor.

I have many friends who work in the medical field in Huntsville and when choosing a doctor I always trust there judgement because they have the opportunity to work with so many physicians. I was so pleased with my experience and will recommend Dr Eric Janssen to anyone who news orthopedic care. His staff was very professional and and always returned my calls in a timely manner. Dr Janssen has the best bedside manner and answered all my questions. I was so impressed he took the time to explain my X-rays and later my MRI. He was conservative with my treatment and gave me options before rushing into surgery. He never made me feel like he was rushed and always listened to my concerns. I am very happy with my outcome and will continue to have Dr Janssen treat my family. He is a very caring surgeon and we are lucky to have him here in Huntsville, Alabama.

Avoid this doctor! I took my son to him three times for his knee after my son was seen in the ER after an injury. Dr. Janssen stated there was nothing wrong with my son's knee over and over again. When my son re-injured his knee again, we had another visit to the ER and the ER physician pulled my son's old x-rays and screamed at me for not following up with an orthopedist as instructed with the first injury. When I finally got to explain that I had taken him to the doctor they referred us to, Dr. Janssen, the ER doctor apologized and then told me I should hire an attorney. My son's knee cap was fractured in three places after the first injury - but Dr. Janssen said there was nothing wrong. I guess I didn't take my son to an orthopedist - I guess I took him to a quack!

Dr. Janssen performed 4 shoulder surgeries and one kneee surgery. I have recommeneded him to every one who was in need of an ortho Surgeon. He has the best bed side manner and is a great surgeon.
