I just heard of Dr Buie’s passing. He was my doctor for many years. He absolutely, unequivocally, saved my life. My daughter and I will always remember his dedication to my care, along with his intrinsic kindness as a human being. The world is a slightly colder place today, but I am so glad I got to have this doctor as MY doctor. I have fond memories of the little room covered with books, the Kleenex under the desk, his children’s’ art, and the atmosphere of unconditional positive regard that was all him. What a man! Thank you so much to the best doctor I ever had, the perfect guy at the perfect time.

I was with Dr Buie for quite a while. I have sought help in the past but never met as professional and knowledgable as Dr Buie. As people prior to me said he never need push meds. But if you needed them he was right there with all the news on the latest and best medications being offered at the time. His clinic was in his home which was very tranquil and peaceful with beautiful gardens all around it. He offered for his patients to go and sit a while in his backyard and think about the session you just had.
I found him to be very compassionate and understanding. I speak of him in the past because he had a stroke last year and was unable to continue to practise. You are very much missed Dr Buie and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your help and guidance. 5 STARS for YOU!

I visited Dr. Buie for a number of sessions over about six months. He had very little to say to me. He was more interested in eating his lunch. If I had been a little more mature and knowledgeable then, I would not have tolerated that rude and unprofessional behaviour. I mistakenly thought, "Well, he's the professional, maybe this is normal....". Now that I work in mental health, I know that he was quite odd.

I have been a patient of Dr. BUIE ON AND OFF FOR 17 YEARS AND I can say he has been very helpful with my depression and anxiety.
Always on time , he never pushes medicatiin, and he is very compationate .
I truly feel at ease talking to Dr. Buie he never judge's me.
I would still be seeing him if I had not moved so far away, and to this day I have not found another Doctor like him. Thank you D. Buie for all you have done for me over the years...

Dr Buie has been my doctor for a few years now. He is so professional is his approach. He stays up to date with all new medications and therapies. He does not push medication AT ALL. He will however recommend use of same if absolutely necessary.
I thank God everyday I have Dr Buie to confide in and get the help I need. Thank you Dr Buie for being the wonderful doctor that you are!!

I saw him for two years and he helped me deal with severe anxiety, loss of confidence and loss of focus, adult Adhd, and relationship issues. He was always kind and encouraged me to create sacred time for planning priorities. He met my partner and helped me see the difference between my fears which became huge and reality. He was not strong on medications, yet would support their use provided there was psycho therapy accompanying their regulated use. I am very grateful for Dr. Buie's professional approach which helped me rebuild a new self.

Dr. Buie, although one day was very compitent I'm sure was very disappointing. He did try (I hope) but I think he should have retired approximately 15-20 years ago. He would start reading "my" file to familiarize himself again and after 5-10 minutes I would tell him that the file is not even me. At one time he had me on so much medication that I could barely function and it definitely did not help my situation. I believe I truly agreed to keep him as my doctor after the first visit was like a placebo pill. Convincing myself that I would finally have help. I was actually on Lithium for over a year (Dr's don't know why) and he never even told me to get my blood tested every 2-3 weeks. I didn't get it done for over the time I was on it. It was never mentioned for over a year. I passionately but regretfully say the he literally should have retired a long time ago or he should only treat very minor and short term problems (if that). I think he should retire before he hurts someone

Absolutely remarkable psychiatrist providing real solution after a thorough evaluation based on real world knowledge. I really appreciated that he used knowledge rather than drugs as a spearhead when I was under his care. Now I live a full life again thanks to this doctor and his keen skill.

I was informed of the comments in this website about me. First I would like to thank the person who wrote a generous evaluation of my work. We are human and we appreciate gratitude. In my defense of the other two evaluations it seems clear that they were made by the same person who seems to harbour some vindictive feelings towards me. In my defense I must say that I don't know who that patient is, but I must add that in the field of psychiatry the treatment of personality disorders is the most difficult and frequently unsuccessful. I certainly regret my inability to help that person. I would even welcome the possibility of reviewing my therapeutic approach with that patient and hope for better results.
