My husband and myself had back surgery I also had neck surgery also. I found Dr. Abood to be an amazing surgeon. Everyone of the surgeries were a success. Neck surgery is scary.. Dr’s voice is very calming. I have given friends his number and they have liked him and were very happy with the results. I had to wonder who they were talking about in some comments . I have complete trust in his talent.

Dr. Abood operated on my husband’s back and the surgery was a failure. He is not the best choice. We were told that he had previous failing surgeries but we trusted his proficiency. I do not recommend him for difficulty surgeries. Perhaps easy and simple ones but not risky ones that mandate an overnight stay at the hospital.

I went to Dr. Abood in terrible back pain and I was probably not the easiest patient to deal with. I had extensive nerve damage that was very crippling. He performed an L5-S1 spinal fusion in December of 2011. After the surgery I continued to have nerve pain in my left leg and especially my foot. I was quite unreasonable with Dr. Abood in my complaints about the pain. He told me the truth (not what I wanted to hear), that nerves take a long time to heal and that sometimes the pain never completely goes away. I am going on 3 years since my surgery and thanks to Dr. Abood with the help of the re-hab staff at the Spine Center I have no back pain. I do still have some nerve pain in my left leg but it is at a tolerable level where no medication is needed. I can't stress how important physical therapy is to recovery as well as continued exercise. there is no magic pill you can take to get better. I can't say enough how much I appreciated Dr. Abood's work and highly recommend him regularly.

Dr Abood came highly recommended by other doctors. Both he and his staff were excellent about explaining my back issues and what he would be doing during my surgery. The follow up was great and the result even better. I have recommended him to several other people.

Dr.Abood basically told me that he was paying for my back surgery because I have medicare/ Medicaid ...... Which was so unprofessional! If I could afford better insurance I obviously would have it. What ever happened to doctors that care about their patients not their money!

Dr. Abood treated my herniated disc and even though I know that my welfare only pays an embarrassing few hundred dollars, he couldn't have been nicer. He did a great job. I know when I am asking someone to help me for free and I show appreciation. The bad reviews below have no shame. Part of the entitlement culture I guess. I hope to get off welfare soon and am thankful for help in the meantime.

I agree. Insurance definitely plays a role in his attitude towards helping you. If you have medicaid/medicare you can forget getting quality care.
