Dr. Hughes and his staff are the most discourteous group of medical caregivers we have ever encountered. The staff is rude as well as Dr. Hughes. Money is the object of this office...not caring for his patients. It is a travesty to experience a caregiver who agrees with all obnoxious actions of his staff and upholds these actions because as he states " some of my office staff have been here over 20 years. Does he not consider this could be the problem? They "own" his office...not him. It is obvious he does not care for his patients or their care. Not only us but numerous people have stated this and have found other pulmonologist. Such a sad excuse for a medical "professional"....and his staff.

Dr. Hal Hughes is Excellent!! I’ve been one of his patients for a few years. He takes time to explain test results, he answers my questions and is very personable. The staff is very nice & professional. I’m Blessed to have Dr. Hal Hughes as my physician. Since I sing a lot to praise The Lord ... I often tell everyone including Dr. Hughes that
Psalm 150:6 says: Let Everything that hath breath Praise The Lord. How can I praise Him if my Lungs aren’t working? Thanks Dr. Hughes ... All Glory To God for using You to keep check on my Lungs!!! 🙌🏽

Dr. Hughes in a patient manner completely explained the results of my breathing test in terms that were easily understood. With the use of a chart in the patient room he outlined the types of medication used for the various degrees of breathing problems. It was a relief to learn that my condition may be a form of Asthma that could be worse during Spring & Fall seasons, instead of mild emphysema which was diagnosed by another doctor. He did caution that this was his first examination of my condition and he stressed that if my condition became more difficult I was to contact his office immediately. He then suggested a follow-up test and visit in six months in order to see if there was any change. I would be remiss if I did not compliment the staff. The receptionist was friendly, the technician conducting the test was very professional, carefully explaining each step and finally the x-ray technician also was able to put me at ease. This experience was much better than expected.

Dr Hughes is wonderful. I have had a great experience with him as a pulmonologist and would not go anywhere else. The office people and technicians have always been nice to me especially the girls that do the PF Tests.

I was referred to dr. Hughes from my PCP for a problem that showed up on a X-ray. I was very pleased with the way I was treated by the staff. When I met with Dr. Hughes I was immediately impressed with his manner and the way he explained things. I only got to see him that one time because, before my next app. I receive Tenn. Care. They do not except Tenn. Care so, I had to see a different pulmonologist, that did except my insurance. By the way, at the time I seen Dr. Hughes I had no insurance and I was told what the visit would cost, so I sold some stuff and took the cash with me. When I went to the window to pay my bill Dr. Hughes had wrote NO CHARGE on my paper work. If you need a Dr. that specializes in pulmonology I don't think you could find a better one anywhere in the area!

I have never met a Dr with a worse bedside manner than that of Dr Hughes. Took my elderly mother to him and he was more than rude! Dr Bruton would be ashamed of how this practice is now being run by this idiot! Dr Hughes, you should be ashamed of the way you treat the elderly! We will never be back! His staff is just as rude! Do yourself a favor and go to Knoxville to find a Dr in pulmonology!

Wow! What an Amazing, God fearing doctor! I found it astonishing that he gave "the man above" the credit for my "excellent health report"! Meant so much to me because the report was looking a little dim... He is a very kind and compassionate individual. It's so good to know that these days some physicians genuinely do care. I didn't feel like a statistic, I felt like a real human being! Thank you Dr. Hughes for being 'you'! :-)
