Always googling information, as a doctor he doesn’t seem to know a lot and he isn’t as professional.

Dr Sy has been my physician for close to 30 years. His service is in the excellent area. I would recommend him to anyone seeking a truly caring and professional doctor.

The rude secretary refused to book an appointment even though he is my family doctor. She said that I have never been there before which is a bald faced lie. Do not go here.

Dr. Sy has treated my whole family for over 20 years. The only one who is still seeing him today is my grandmother because his office is close to her house and she can walk to him. I have never had a pleasant encounter with his secretary (wife) and when I have to call for my grandma, who doesn’t speak English well, I get anxious about speaking to her. About 10 years ago, after a suicide attempt, I needed a doctor’s note for school and he was so nervous and made me hide the note so his wife wouldn’t charge me $20 for it. When I asked him to see a sleep specialist after having bad insomnia for weeks, he took the referral form (which my father got from his friend) and put it in my folder and said he was going to specialize in sleep so he knows all about it and that I don’t need to go there. He also has made comments about sex telling me one of his male patients asked him how he can get his girlfriend to give him oral sex and that he told him “pineapple juice”. He also told me “don’t worry, I’ll teach you about sex and you won’t be depressed anymore”. He also got mad at my grandma when she asked for a referral to get her toes trimmed at a clinic because she is diabetic. I could go on with stories from myself and my family but I will leave it there. He is extremely unprofessional and does not have his patients best interests at heart. I wish my grandma wouldn’t see him anymore.

The most rude secretary, which I am sure wrote the previous comment to protect herself and Dr. P. SY. . He completely misdiagnosed me and when I saw a specialist that actually diagnosed me correctly he got jealous and tried to get me to stop seeing the specialist.

The person who wrote the May 12, 2021 was the rude one. I was at the pharmacy beside Dr Sy,s office and all she did continuously for about 30minutes shouting like a lunatic to the recepti9nist was “do your f... job “ over and over she scares the people in our pharmacy and disturbed our place of business. Also she did not introduce herself and does not have medical authorization for her dad...never have I seen. Verbally,ignorant continuous barrage of f.... we should have called the police. personal medical info is self explanatory, we do not even release meds without authorization from our customers..it’s a privacy issue. By the way she’s father was already in the hospital and wanted Dr Sy to tell them what to do when he was already being looked at in the hospital . There is a professional courtesy and this erratic woman was out of line...one of our staff re order her erratic, rude behaviour....receptionist handled this issue quite well considering the continuos barrage of f’s....

If I could give no stars I would. The ill-mannered receptionist refused to answer my calls, hung up on me 9 times, and then when I showed up would not acknowledge any requests until I said "please". Noting, my father, Dr. Sy's patient has had reoccurring strokes for 2 years and somehow Dr. Sy missed it. Similarly, when I called to book my fathers MRI appointment, the receptionist took THREE days to get back to us, and now that he's formally admitted into Trillium hospital, they still refuse to answer the phone.
So, I drove to the Walk-In from Brampton, and not only did she tell me to "call", upon arrival, but she refused to even acknowledge I was there. Then, to make matters worse, my father was at the hospital and because I was calling out his very unprofessional receptionist, Dr. Sy CALLED my father on his personal line TWICE, ten minutes apart, to tell him "your daughter has to go home". I will be filing a complaint with the CPSO, and will be highlighting the lack of care in my dads case, and the overall unprofessional malpractice. There are countless reviews that highlight the lack of compassion, care, and capabilities of both the receptionist & Dr. Sy.

Dr. Sy is trying to be as helpful as he can. However, you have to ask and manage your health and informed, as well. He is a GP and he would answer your medical questions as best as he can. He will refer you to a specialist ie needs be.

Dr. Sy will continue to lose patients and prevent getting new ones if he and her receptionist don't change their professional and personal behaviours for the better. The receptionist could be more courteous in with patients and Dr.Sy could be more concerned about his patients, e.g., flushot and annual physical
