No bedside manner. Not willing to discuss surgical findings with family. Would NOT recommend. Go see Dr. Cowan from this group instead.

AWFUL experience!
My 3 year old was referred to this office because of chronic ear infections. His pediatrician advised that my son would more than likely need tubes. Made the appointment. Showed up the 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork. Appointment was at 10:30. We waited and waited until almost noon for Dr. Ellis to walk in. He came off as arrogant and rude. Never even once acknowledged that he was nearly an hour and a half behind. Took a whole 5 minutes with my son to agree that he needed tubes. Fast forward to surgery day. Arrival time was 7:15 AM, procedure at 9:00 AM. My son was nervous, thirsty, and hungry. Dr. Ellis was an hour late. Again, arrogant and unapologetic. My son was hysterical. We were rushed out of recovery, and were not satisfied with the experience. My son was to have his post op appointment last week. However, due to front desk ignorance, I showed up to find out it was today. Went in the morning for an 8:20 appointment (I made it this early thinking he couldn't be behind first thing in the morning)...WRONG. At 9:00, we left without being seen because we had another appointment to get to. This place is horrible. We will never return. :/

Called at 8am for a medicine refill. Called multiple times throughout the day and still never heard back. Was told to go to our pharmacy if we hadn't heard back near their closing time. Wasting 2 hours at the pharmacy because the office never picked up the phone and the after hours Dr said he didn't call in prescriptions after hours. So suffered all night in pain and called again at 8am the next morning and the Dr. said I needed to come back in if needed a refill. LOL He needs to realize not every patient heals the same after surgery and not make his $ and then be done with you. I would NOT recommend this Dr unless you want a surgery and then they could care less.

This doctor diagnosed my daughter correctly after several doctors misdiagnosed or couldn't diagnose her, including one Children's Mercy's GI who suspected autoimmune in progress. Many specialties from Children's Mercy saw her-many, many tests-including capsule endoscopy. Misdiagnosed/undiagnosed with an appointment pending for Mayo's Undiagnosed Children's Clinic in Minnesota set up by pediatrician. Saw teams of doctors two hospitalizations at CMH. One admittance by ambulance with heart team attending her (misdiagnosed microplasma pneumonia). 2nd admittance 6 days- she was in isolation and on IVF's. septic, with rashes over her body, reactive arthritis. Released undiagnosed, needing antibiotics every few months.Grasping for straws to survive until Mayo Appt. still about 2 mo's away; we saw Dr. Ellis in his office. One look was all it took-tonsillitis! Dr. Ellis literally may have saved her life. No health issues since now 3 years laters! She just co-starred in community theatre play!

Dr. Ellis has been a fantastic doctor for our family. After reading the previous posts of others, I felt I had to put my review on here because I would truly recommend anyone of my family and friends to him. I have seen him for tonsil removal and deviated septum surgery with excellent results. He had amazing listening skills for a busy doctor, and good bedside manner. My husband also had good remarks to give Dr. Ellis. He was very knowledgeable and I would go to him again. Don't trust others advise, go see for yourself.

My son has suffered from allergies all his life and sinus issues for several months. We have tried pretty much every allergy med out there over counter and prescription. This year they finally had him allergy tested and sent us to an ENT. The ENT was Dr. Ellis. Don't remember having any issues with his staff but will never go to him again. He had little bedside manner and basically all he had to say was "Have you tried allergy medicine?" Do you really think we would be at an ENT if not. We have since seen another ENT who is working on helping him. It looks like sinus surgery is not going to be his cure but atleast the new ENT paid enough attention to figure out what his problem is and has come a long ways to getting him better.

After two 5 minute "examinations", both 50 minutes late (I had confirmed appointments), he concluded there was nothing he could do for my sinus problem. No X-ray, no CAT scan (which he said he would do on the first visit), nothing except a quick look up the nose. He didn't ask many questions, such as how long this had been going on, recent changes, etc. On the second appointment, he came in the exam room and said he was in the wrong room, and should be next door. He left and came back about 15 minutes later. He didn't seem to have correct records, since he asked if I was still using xxx medication for itching. When I said I'd never heard of it, he said he must have me mixed up with another patient. He was reading from his laptop computer. My confidence, already shaky, went to zero. I am disabled (in a wheelchair), and he may not have been interested in treating me because of that. I definitely felt that he couldn't get rid of me fast enough.
