I visited Dr.Chantelle Ung to get a cyst removed that had bothered me for over a decade and she removed it by basically draining it and took out the sac piece by piece. At least that’s what she said. A year later it got badly infected where I had to take antibiotics and visit numerous walk-in clinics and my family doctor to get it drained because it was so painful. It was a nightmare where I couldn’t do day-day things. She said that chances of it coming back are really low but I’ve never had an infection in the decade that I’ve had this cyst. I got it removed properly by a plastic surgeon (performed incision) and he indicated that that was an incorrect procedure to remove a cyst. She basically just popped a big zit. She didn’t see me for a follow up either and other doctors have said that she should have. The admin staff is also terrible. They take forever to return your calls and your referral goes into an abyss unless you pester them and leave voicemails that only get returned a week later. I basically went to her to get better but she made it worse. Do not trust her “knowledge”.

Recently staff did not return my phone calls even for an urgent request from a patient of 10 years. It seems they are understaffed for the number of clients. Dr. Ung runs a very busy clinic. I find her manner efficient. Only once did she make the wrong call but upon discussion the issue was resolved to my satisfaction. I see her in for a routine check up once a year now, however, I have had back, leg and facial lesions that needed attention between follow ups. That is when I was disappointed.

Visited Dr Ung in July 2023 for facial eczema. Based on the reviews, I knew what to expect: another apathetic doctor who probably has a 5 minute countdown in her head as soon as she steps into a room. She looked at my face for maybe a millisecond (not kidding, not even for a full second) and when I tried to be helpful by showing her detailed photos of my condition, again she spared a millisecond. Whatever. Anyhow, she prescribed Elidel, which is a pretty serious cream that can impact your immune system. It also burns like a mothertrucker and should not be used anywhere near your eyes, which is where most of my eczema was. Pregnant women also aren't allowed to use it. Did she mention ANY of this? Nope. And she gave me a list of "approved" hypoallergenic products (cleansers, shampoos, soaps, etc.) -- I took one look at it and knew right off the bat that the list was ancient and probably hasn't been updated for the last 20+ years. I am very into skincare and know my stuff. It's concerning that these doctors have no interest in keeping up to date in order to give their patients the newest and most effective products. A quick look at the Canadian Dermatology Association website gave me a far more comprehensive and updated list of products. She could've at minimum copied and pasted this list for her clients. Anyways, I will not be returning to her. If I need help again, I'll find a much more helpful and modern derm.

Uncaring doctor , always rushed, looks a second at questionable skin problems. She left the room without saying one word and never came back. The previous time I was there was about the same. Dermatologist shouldn’t be allowed to push cosmetic procedures and products. It unethical because they make more money on non medical appointments and don’t give a darn about the patient.

Having been to this clinic twice now for an all-over body rash and 3 biopsies I was told by phone by the receptionist that there were NO abnormalities. So what do I do now. No instructions as to what to do next. I was left looking like the kangaroo from polka-dot door. In Dr. Uns favor she did phone but hung up by the time i reached the phone. I am a very unhappy patient. G.H.

Waiting for more than 40 mins after my appointment, she didn't even care to check on my skin!
No history asked, no recommendation made except for handing over a printed paper with regular recommendations.
Just waisting the time!!
Ask ChatGPT, Google or search in Youtube, avoid these type of specialists.

She is not the most personable dermatologist. Staff at the desk don't answer the phones and from personal experience don't return calls as you need to call multiple times to try to get an appointment. We call weekly and they just don't call. This really needs to be addressed. Very poor patient service.

IF you can get an appointment then all will be well. She knows her stuff but booking system is very awkward. I think they are understaffed. Just listen to their phone message to see what I mean. You can wait 72 hours to have your call returned - even if you are a patient - even then you'd better be available to answer your phone or you will wait another 72 hours.

I waited 8 months to see this “specialist” just to be told the initial doctor referral has expired so I had to get a new one! If the office puts their efforts to actually resolve patient issues not so much on administration and ways to milk the system - they will be much more efficient in utilizing the tax payers money!😡
