I felt very rushed and no explanations were given to me. He basically just told me to take Tylenol to ease mu abdominal pain. I felt like he was telling me to leave the office when I was still asking questions. I would not recommend.

Dr. Mostafa Ghoneim's response
Walk in clinic does not refill narcotic for abdominal pain, especially if it is prescribed already by the family doctor. The College of physicians recommends doctors to protect people from drug seeking and drug addiction.

Dr. Ghoneim is a treasure! He is one of those few brilliant doctors who takes time to diagnose and I am so thankful to the All Mighty that I have stumbled upon him. I had this inflammation of the feet where other doctors just diagnosed me with gout and their prescription does not work. Luckily after weeks of tolerating pain, Victoria Day of 2020 I went to walk-in clinic, I met him and diagnosed that my condition is not gout because my uric acid is not high. He prescribed me medicine and wallah! Just like magic, the swelling disappeared. then come yesterday after 2 years same thing happened I went to him but not available. I went to the hospital and practicing Nurse gave me gout prescription. I did not take it and waited for Dr. Ghoneim . He prescribed me again and wallah! Just like magic again pain disappeared following day and was able to walk again! I thank God for Dr. Ghoneim hope he lives long to help more people diagnose carefully. He is very professional and meek demeanor.

One of my sons just had circumcision done in May by Dr. Ghoneim. He is very kind, patient, professional and caring about his patients. He kept checking my son everyday till we could change the dress at home by ourselves. He asked me to prepare what we need before the surgery and followed up with us about the schedule before it. The most impressive thing is, he gave me his cell phone number so I could ask him when we had questions at home. I have never seen such a kind doctor in Winnipeg.
My other son will have Dr. Ghoneim to do his circumcision next Month. I am not worring about him at all.

Saw him with what was clearly an abscess. Instead of lancing it, he just prescribed antibiotics. Next thing I know, I'm in an ambulance and need life saving, midnight surgery. I was in hospital for a week and had several months of daily in-home nursing for his invalidation of what was clearly a serious infection.

Dr. Mostafa Ghoneim's response
Big abscess and severe infection has to be managed at the hospital to avoid the risk of infection or bleeding.
Walk in clinic is not equipped for major surgery. Giving antibiotic and direct the patient to the hospital is the right decision done by any doctor. Dealing with this problems wisely protect the patients from severe infection or even loss of life.

Went in with a positive at home pregnancy test (he could clearly see was positive), with pain on my right side where my ovary would be. Asked to run blood test to rule out ectopic pregnancy cus I had a bad feeling. All he did was make me take the same pregnancy test I did at home, saw faint line and dismissed me with no blood test even though I was in pain. Ended up in the ER and almost died from ectopic pregnancy.

Dr. Mostafa Ghoneim's response
Even pregnancy is diagnosed by urine analysis and blood test, ectopic pregnancy is not diagnosed by blood test, but by urgent ultrasound. If there is strong suspicion of ectopic pregnancy , it has to be diagnosed by urgent ultrasound and not to waste time waiting for blood test which takes more than two days. In this case we refer our patient to ER department for urgent management if we have a case like that. . Mutual trust and understanding between patient and doctor is needed for safe approach to any medical problem.

Im am seriously astounded he is allowed to practice medicine in Canada... My regular family physician was not available so I went to visit Dr. Ghoneim as a walk-in patient. My eyes had been swollen for several days so I figured they needed to be checked. Upon arrival, Dr. Ghoneim, asked what is it he can do for me. I pointed to my eye being swollen and he looked at me in shock as if my eye was normal. I persisted and again Dr. Ghoneim told me my eye was fine. He clearly saw I was confused and shocked that he was not seeing the same thing and made a attempt in frustration to address the situation by looking into my eye with the ophthalmoscope. "What do you want me to do, theres nothing wrong," he shouted, visibly frustrated at me. Flustered and a bit scared, I left in shock with my swollen eye. Was he having a bad day ?" I thought to myself. "Was this normal for him? Was he trying to push patients through ?" (As my friends in med school explain). I ended up returning to my regular family physician the following day and I had Mono, or Epstein-Barr virus (as I suspected and suggested to him). My Dr. clearly saw my eye was swollen and ordered some blood tests. He said I had one of the worst blood panels hes ever seen (low WBCs, RBCs and elevated ALT) and took the necessary steps to follow up with me. It was utterly unacceptable in how Dr. Ghoneim treated me and I am considering writing to the college of family physicians of Canada about the incident. At first, I thought it may be a cultural barrier between us or he just presents different mannerisms but I realize no doctor should ever treat patients in this way, especially doctors who state only one "complaint" per visit (as he is known for doing). I would highly recommend avoiding this doctor at all costs and visit a physician makes and attempt to understand you, does not limit one "complaint" per visit (in an effort to make some cash), and can genuinely listen to your concerns.

Viral infections are clinically discovered after the incubation period. If this patient did not show any signs during examination, it takes some days to show up. Prophylactic medication is given until final diagnosis.

I had to repeat myself multiple times because he was not listening to me. He asked why I had not told him something I had just said. I don't have a lot of confidence in this interaction and I'm baffled by the positive reviews here, though it seems they are from male patients (I am female) for circumcision.

I always advice my patients not to be ashamed if they have any psychiatric or cognitive impairment. I encourage my patient to face the fact and asks for help before their condition getting worse and hard to be treated. Poor experience with the doctor originates from delay of asking for help . Mental problems are not shameful

Dr. Mostafa Ghoneim's response
I feel very sorry if any one of our patients has a poor experience with us. Diagnosis of mental or cognitive impairment needs co operation between health professional and the patient . It needs also investigation to reach the right diagnosis and treatment. Never hesitate to ask for help early to get the best results

Poor experience with this physician. You really need to advocate for yourself, and even then your concerns are still brushed off. Is not aware of your cardiac medical history, shrugs mental health concerns off, and actually comes off as quite judgemental. Save yourself the trouble and start looking for a new family doc, unless you need a circumcision, as by the sounds of this rating history.

Dr. Mostafa Ghoneim's response
Unfortunately, some patients are still ashamed of being diagnosed with some psychiatric problem.. They try to deny it and refuse to start medication. They are scared of stigma that might affect their social relationship. Nowadays , the community respects and helps people with mental problems. There are many facilities inside and outside the city to help these patients. I hope that any patient who suffers from any mental problem to ask for help . We deal with these people very respectfully . Treatment of your psychiatric problem is the corner stone of peaceful life.
