I was with Kevin for over 10 years. Many times did I ignore his advice. He prescribed me many different medication over time. Most of them worked but one I had complications with that may have been my own fault. After 10 years I began to listen and wouldnt u know itm he was right. I suffer from bipolar 2 and now I'm on the exact meds I need, and and now I'm living a healthy life. You cant always be perfect but the end result is what matters.

He prescribed me medication I was warned not to take due to it's addictive potential and my own family history. He then did two check ups in the following year and never again. I then became dependent on the medication he prescribed me and began to abuse it. Nearly ten years of subsequent stimulant drug abuse and 150 days of sobriety later, I wish I had never taken his advice and stuck with the medication that worked for me prior to making the change he suggested. I wouldn't be surprised if certain drug companies were padding his pockets as I'm not the only former Trent student of my cohort that he persuaded to take vyvanse

I had Dr Nugent as a child. He asked me over and over again every week, “where does your father touch you”. He never did an assessment on my mother who has borderline personality disorder and manipulated Dr Nugent into doing whatever she wanted. Which was to put a 9 year old girl on amitriptyline and Prozac so I was less of a hassle for her. Then back again to Dr Nugent to ask where my dad touched me. “Does he ever SPANK you? Does he ever touch you here, or, here, or here??” He would ask with his creepy voice. My father never touched me. My mother was trying to build a case for full custody to hurt him. And Dr Nugent went along with this charade. Amitriptyline has a low therapeutic index. Not safe for children. But sure…just load a child up on meds and try to convince her that her beloved father is a sex offender. Did you know that after that…my father didn’t hug me again until I was 21 years old and I asked WHY he doesn’t hug? This. Because of an alleged court case from my mother that he molested us. Now. Only now do I have some semblance of a normal relationship with my dad. My mother? She’s addicted to clonazepam and alprazolam. Alcohol. And has no contact with us.
You had the chance to advocate for me. And you didn’t. You…a psychiatrist. Got outwitted by a borderline. And you made that part of my childhood a scar in my mind forever. This was from Thunder Bay. I notice you don’t practice there anymore.

I met and worked collaboratively with Dr. Nugent over several years when I was a Trent student. He helped clarify my diagnoses (related to past trauma and bipolar spectrum) and together we worked out a successful med program. This allowed me to continue my schooling through some difficult times through to a graduate degree. He also encouraged me not to give up on my marriage, which is now in a much better place now. His genuine interest, caring attitude and skill as a psychiatrist made a big difference in my life.
I have been told that Dr. Nugent is now fully retired and I wish him well.

I seen this Dr. Several times around 10 years ago. Even then I found him rude, dismissive and I was very upset that he wouldn't listen. He knew nothing about me or my past that made me who I was at that time. He assumed I was BI-Polar then handed me a few attempts to medicate me. Problem is he was medicating the wrong thing... which didn't take long to lead to serious depression and some drug use that coat me a marriage and more mental health issues. It took me around 10 years after that to attempt to get help again as Dr.Nugent left me feeling like it was all me being a piece of garbage. Today with the help of professionals who cared and worked with me I found I suffer from complex PTSD and Tourette's syndrome. I was able to easily end drug use and make my life a great life. Dr. Nugent may be great at handing off pills but he doesn't care about his clients. I've met others who had similar experiences but I'm only speaking for my own today.

Dr. Nugent understands teens, and all psychiatric programs. He is not afraid to prescribe medication which in turn saved my daughters life. She is now flourishing.

Amazing doctor. 6 years of being thrown random diagnoses from other psychiatrists and he helped pinpoint my problem in less than a few months. He is very busy and sometimes it is hard to get an appointment but after an appointment with him you will understand why!

I can not ask for any one better that Dr. Nugent. He instantly diagnosed my 10 year old son. Dr, Nugent is very understanding and patient as well as with his explanations to my sons behavior. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Nugent.
