This Dr. Is RUDE. My son was told by him that repairing a torn tendon is not necessary. I think he said this because my son is on Medi-Cal and he won't make as much money. I am a registered nurse and he questioned my credentials. He did not ask who I was until after he had discussed medical information that could have been in violation of HIPPA laws.
I would advise avoiding him at all costs.

I am a nurse who has seen Dr. Allyn's work up close and personal and although as already noted his bedside manner could use fine tuning his skills, knowledge and abilities are A-ONE. He has done 5 surgeries for me, including replacing both knees and i Chose to go to him. Also i have several medical issues and he made sure my internist knew ahead of time i was having surgery and what date so that my doctor could look in as well and consult if need. So he looks out for his patients over all health not just what he does.

Regardless of the few comments I've read about Dr. Allyn, he is a good physician. Some people dislike his bedside manner but his surgical expertise is the best. People might not be happy of his honesty but he does tell his patients if he can fix the problem or make it worse. Last but not least Dr. Allyn is not God.

I have seen Dr Allyn on multiple occasions and can say that although there maybe a wait (and tell me what Dr you can go to without waiting) I was completely happy with the care I received. I had several surgeries and have been very happy with the outcomes. I see that others have blogged here about the good doctor and I am honestly thinking this is one person with a motive to make him look bad. I see that the same exact days he was trashed that a doctor that is now out of practice and facing a huge lawsuit was glorified by the same exact screen name. Lets keep this forum for the truth and not for the practice of trashing a physician by a peer. Its obvious that was the case here on all the prior reviews.

He lacks bedside manners. He screwed up my husband knee replacement. Although he said it was my husbands fault. My husband had to have a 2nd knee put in and after 6 months of follow-up surgeries(7 more) My husband had his leg amputateed. did not want to take time to listen. Insulted me for asking questions. Inflicted some of the most excruciating pain on my poor husband.

Lancy Allen performed a orthopedic scope surgery to remove a loose body from my knee. After 4 weeks I continued to have discomfort, swelling and instability in my knee. After nearly falling 3 times in one day I went to see him. He told me nothing was wrong. The next week I fell and caused severe nerve damage to my leg. He began to tell me that I wasnt having any pain and it was normal recovery. From my knee to my toes I had no sensation for a week. This was the worst experience with a doctor I have ever had in my life.

I sat for over hour and a half to see him.. I should have left! When I did see him he was so rude, paid no attention to what I was saying and left the room. I guess my 3 minutes were up. Never went back! Do not even put yourself in the position of being treated like pond scum... you will hate yourself for it!!!!

Showed up late for my surgery, did not adequately explain surgery, no support after surgery. I had to be referred to another surgeon for corrective therapy. Dr, Allyn's medical records were so false and misleading that the new Dr. could not tell very much about what was done. I was informed by new Dr. and the case manager assigned by worker's comp. that they end up having to deal with a number of Dr. Allyn's patients. Always seen by PA, when he does see youhis back is to you the whole time and he talks to his tape recorder without addressing you in person. Horrible bedside manner.
