Very knowledgeable on Lyme Disease and Co-infections that are very complex. He helped me recover when all other area doctors had no idea what to do. I am very thankful for his practice and I will continue to recommend him to others. Very professional staff.

Best doctor I've ever had. Truly cares about his patients. He is one of the original authors of the ILADS treatment guidelines and got treated himself after being incorrectly diagnosed with Lou Gehrigs Disease. I can't say enough good things, and he is responsible for getting me to where I am now.

This has got to be one of the most unprofessional doctors' offices I have ever been to. Not only is his wife not even a certified nurse, she LOUDLY spouts off patients' symptoms in front of them to other patients that are in the waiting room! Which goes against the Hippocratic Oath in almost every single way. They also have their son in the same office that has something wrong with him and makes everyone uncomfortable. They talk about inappropriate things to their patients and at one time, they were pulling patients into their office to watch youtube videos of things unrelated to lyme disease(their main focus). Very inappropriate and unprofessional. Along with this, Dr. Smith keeps you in his office for like 2-4 hours at a time and talks your ear off about things that have little to nothing to do with Lyme to begin with. All meanwhile, you are trying to get a word in and he keeps going and interrupting you. After sitting there for that long, he finally writes up Rxs for you and sends you off on your way. Afterwards you are wondering why you even needed to be there if all he was going to do was talk your ear off about irrelevant things and then give you drugs afterwards. And then they tell you that they won't put refills on bottles and that the only way you can get another Rx is to sit through another 3 hour session with him talking the entire time about things that have little to nothing to do with Lyme. HUGE waste of time.

And to top it all off, they tell me they can no longer see me anymore after 7 months of seeing them, just because I needed to reschedule with them due to a family emergency after missing ONE appointment due to them forgetting to schedule a time with me after my last visit with them. Any professional office gives you either a reminder or tells you of the next time they have you scheduled. I walked out the door assuming they were going to just call me with a time and they never did. Somehow this is my fault. The best part of this is, I was trying to reschedule with his wife in the end, and she told me over the phone that I gave up on them and said they can no longer see me.... When a patient is trying to reschedule with a doctor, that means they want to keep on the treatment and not giving up!

I am left on my own now with half empty bottles of antibiotics that cannot get filled anymore, and back to square one because of another doctor failing me. I wasted an entire year with these people... Don't do the same thing. They aren't covered by insurance companies for a reason... Because he and his wife SHOULD NOT be in the health field what so ever.

Dr. Smith is by far the best Lyme doctor in the northeast. He is honest, kind, and caring. He happily takes your call to address your problems, big or small. I can't imagine seeing anyone else. He gets my highest possible recommendation.

Dr. Harold Smith saved my life. I owe him everything. He is truly old school medicine at its best. He spends over an hour with each patient and does a full exam. He is the best doctor I have ever seen.

I read a lot of reviews, but I am not usually one to write them myself, although given the circumstances I feel compelled to share my experience for the sake of those seeking a reliable Lyme doctor. Dr. Smith and his wife were willing and helpful in the beginning, but both ended up being extremely rude and disrespectful after only a few months of treatment. He obviously has a knowledge of the disease, but I have never had such a poor personal experience with a doctor and as a result I am no longer a patient of his. I highly recommend seeking another doctor.
