My experience with Dr Obukhoff The Center for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery has been great. I have always felt that I was in competent hands throughout the office visits, the surgery, and recovery. There were no surprises, and that gave me peace of mind and helped keep me stay calm and relaxed. Maggie his medical assistant was always very patient in answering my questions and explained her answers completely. Serge Obukhoff is an awesome Neurosurgeon who cares about his patients. He is kind compassionate, extremely patient, and knowledgable. I can't say enough kind things about him. Dr. Obukhoff is conservative in his approach and you can trust that he is making the best decisions about your care. He takes the time to explain and educate you on all aspects including benefits and risks. I had a C4-7 Artificial Disc Replacement surgery on 7/16/18 and a L3 thru L5 lumbar fusion on 9/20/2018 at Monrovia Hospital and the surgery went very well. Thanks to Dr. Obukhoff I am on the way to getting my life back. I know I have many months and lots of pain to be back 100%. However this is the first time since being rear ended last October I have been able to feel my my feet and to use my arms. I highly recommend Dr. Obukhoff !!!!!!I hope to never to have neurosurgery again, but if I need to I would not hesitate to ask for Dr Serge Obukhoff.

I am recovering from surgery today. I was involved in a moderate car accident in Oct 17. I tried chiropractic care and it made it worse 3 injections helped but I knew I needed surgery . I could barely walk I had severe pain and numbness tingling going down my arms. had to resign from my 80k job I finally had surgery today and I am crying because I am so happy. Dr Obukhoff has fixed the pain I was having for 8 months. I still have little tingling in my hand but I am sure it was from 8 months of Nationwide insurance denying there client of any fault rear ending me and this causing damage to my nerves. I hope it’s not permanent

I was told I needed two ER surgeries from this Dr. And when I asked questions about other options being that I was still only in my early to mid 20's...he got very upset and defensive and wrote in my report that "Pt got defensive and declines suregery at this time " . I think as a pt we have the right to ask questions esp when one is about to cut into our body esp the spine(back) I am glad I declined this dr. Because as he had told me "if I didn't have the surgery I would not be walking in a couple of yrs and have incontinence." 5 yrs later yea I still suffer with the pain but I have been walking and did alternative therapy which helped. I am looking into new Dr's.

I was referred to Dr. Obukhoff after having experienced 2 failed lumbar diskectomies and having seen 3 consulting surgeons. All 3, highly regarded spinal specialists, said that the actual requirement was so extensive (four level lumbar fusion) that they would only do it as multiple surgeries. Dr. Obukhoff took one look at the MRI and said: ' I don't like it, but there is no choice... It must be 4 levels and it must be all at once. Investigation revealed that he had a unique record of success with cases such as mine. I recovered from this surgery few other surgeons would consider attempting in less time than from each of the earlier 1 level diskectomies. I was restored to a functional, pain free level. He followed up with regular visits and I saw him frequently as he stopped in to monitor my condition and activities in rehab/therapy. I was treated with the greatest courtesy and consideration. All my concerns were addressed, questions answered, and I was never rushed.
