Biography
Dr. Jones is among a select group of pain specialists in the Kansas City area with fellowship certification through The American Board of Anesthesiology, The American Board of Pain Medicine, The American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians and The World Institute of Pain. A native of Kansas City, Kansas, Dr. Jones received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University. He completed medical school at Meharry Medical College, following the footsteps of his grandfather, father and brother. Dr. Jones completed a rotating surgery internship at The George Washington University Hospital, followed by an anesthesiology residency at UCLA-affiliated King/Drew Medical Center. He completed fellowship training in interventional pain management at The Oregon Health Sciences University. In his free time, Dr. Jones enjoys tennis, running, college basketball, and spending time with his wife and four children.

While I agree the wait time to see Dr. Jones is usually awhile after your appointment time, I do not feel this is necessarily the doctor or staffs fault. At NKC hospital, they have 5 or more providers working with full schedules sharing 16 rooms. Maybe the hospital should look at alternative space for these outpatient clinics. Despite the wait, Dr. Jones always gives me as much time as necessary once he is in my room, thoroughly reviewing my history and asking questions and truly listening to my answers. His support staff is kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. Pat makes sure my appointment is made at a time that works for me and that insurance receives necessary information to cover my care.
Dr. Jones doesn't push unnecessary appointments or procedures, or medications on me. He respects my concerns and decisions and truly helps my life be a little easier to live.
