As a regular person, Dr. Salyani is a wonderfully engaging and personable guy. He has a sense of humour and likes to funny and chatty when he has the time. But most importantly, Dr. Salyani is a brilliant doctor. He has been checking my eyes annually for several years now as we are keeping a watch on my retina issues. My mom had a full retinol detachment and I am prone to retinol tears. He has performed laser repair on my tears twice now. I look forward to my appointments and to seeing him. I know my eyes are in the best hands with Dr. Salyani and I would never want to go anywhere else but Medical Eye Consultants, Newmarket. As well, all the staff and technicians are pleasant, warm and friendly despite working under enormous stress and pressure due to the large volume of patients that come through their doors daily. I highly recommend this place for all your eye care needs.

I was referred to Dr. Asif Salyani by my son, Dr. Robert MacAlpine, an Optometrist, at Aurora 2020, Aurora, ON. Robert has the highest regard for Dr. Salyani and has been closely connected with this Ophthalmologist on the many patient referrals that he has made.
I am very thankful to have been a patient of Dr. Salyani. I met with Dr. Salyani in September 2021. At which time he and his staff did a thorough assessment of my need for cataract surgery and more specifically the type of intraocular lens that would be best for me for reading, computer, driving, night vision, etc. On October 6, 2021, I had cataract surgery with lens implant in my right eye.
The surgery with lens implant has been a complete success! My vision is EXCELLENT … reading, driving, computer, EVERYTHING!! And … I am very grateful.
Dr. Salyani is thorough, confident and caring in his approach and takes the time to provide explanations and the results of his medical assessments. Bottom line I entrust the care of my vision to Dr. Salyani with +++ confidence. I will continue to have him monitor the need for surgery in my Left eye. It is important to mention, as well, that the staff, from reception, technicians, nurses to anesthetist, were all extremely friendly and comforting as I went through this unfamiliar process.

Dr. Asif Salyani is one of the most gifted, caring and experienced Ophthalmologists in Ontario and in Canada. Without his timely intervention and skill, I would have lost my eyesight. Had my first appointment Dec 09 21with mixed review. Time length was good. Dr Salyani knowledgeable with no bedside manner. His attending doctor uninterested and diplomatically chastised in front of me. His administrator promise was was kept and after 8 calls I only received a response after advising my referring Dr of the situation. Truly disappointed and have canceled any further appointments as I also requested info from fb friends and hate to say it but this company does not have a great rep when it comes to communication unless it’s financial.

both of my previous two comments have been erased. Worst experience ever. 8 hours in office. I never felt any anesthetic at all. Felt pain of everything. Terrible bedside manners. Had the receptionist come in the OR to tell me he made a mistake on my bill. He had the wrong person. What was he doing in the OR???? Rude staff. My one eye is paining. I will have to see someone but I will never go back to this place.

Worst experience I have ever had to go through .. I felt everything and the dr was only worried about himself .. complaining he had a sore back and neck... he didn't feel like doing anymore surgeries and as he slicing my eye says his hand is numb... not to mention he had no shoes on.. I canceled my last appointment that day and they still email about the appointment I won't be going to.. I will be reporting him .. be careful he is money hungry..

The Dr. is great but the system for trying to book an appointment stinks. Absolutely impossible to book an appointment ,as I am trying to do a yearly follow up after surgery. They give out an e-mail address which does me and many others no good as I take text only, also there many times when you need to ask a REAL PERSON important questions, bad system, and VERY impersonal, again I repeat, it STINKS, will have to go elsewhere.
