Dr. Farinha is sloppy with his paperwork which required multiple visits. He never informed us that my mother had atrial fib, nor did he treat it properly, nor did he refer her to a cardiologist. When her pulse oxygen dropped from 98% to 74%, he sent her home on oxygen and told me, "She's old." She was code three to the ER in a week with pulmonary embolisms. She almost died. When I called in a licensed Naturopathic doctor for nutritional help in healing bed sores, Dr. Farinha pulled her home nurse, refused repeated requests for a urinalysis even though there was an increasing amount of blood in her brief, and told me to find a different doctor. Initially he refused to fill her Rx for blood thinner. Because she didn't have a doctor for a couple of weeks or nurse for INR, she ended up in the ER after losing half of her blood from bleeding internally. All of this could have been avoided with proper treatment of the A. fib in the first place. He is very lax in treating the elderly.
