Unfortunately, our family's experience with this physician has been dismal. Being a nurse, I take special note of how a physician performs and in more than one instance this healer was, not only incorrect, but her demeanor was less than desirable. Thankfully, we were able to secure services from another urologist in the area. My father had to have removal of a stone. Dr. Gemar sent him home with a catheter in place and stated that he could take it out himself if he wished. The reader can draw their own opinion in that instance. I have had multiple kidney stones as a teen and adult. Some were small enough to pass, others were not. What sticks in my mind is the time I called Dr. Germar to tell herI had a stone and that there was blood in my urine to which she replied: "You would only have blood in your urine if you had cancer." Really? Could a urologist of many years truly be this naive? I have been treated by many urologists but this is the worst physician I have ever come in contact with. I will not go to her and would drive 100 miles in great pain just to see someone else. Willmar does not have another urologist that is taking new patients because he is so busy. To make matters more difficult for the patient, this woman has a Napoleon Complex and her general demeanor leaves much to be desired. My comments are based on several different encounters with Dr. Gemar. I would not recommend anyone to this physician but many may have no choice as her schedule allows for her to take new patients.
