I am the patient who wrote the 2009 posts. I wrote this after getting TMJ after a dental occlusal adjustment. In most cases, I would not recommend this specific procedure to anyone, but I realize now that TMJ is a possible side effect of many dental procedures and that it was the procedure, rather than Dr. Blake, that caused my TMJ.

I have been completely satisfied with the professional care I have received from Dr. Blake and his staff. I have had routine visits and extensive restorative care. Thank you Dr. Blake and Staff.

Just a note of caution. Dr. Blake doesn't respond to many emails, and does not take responsibility for his mistakes. He is very talented in regard to cosmetics, but does not thoroughly explain possible bad outcomes/effects. A procedure he did on my led to TMJD and when I emailed him, he didn't respond. I sought a second opinion and he refused to continue treatment. In addition, his fees are very high.

This dentist is very friendly, well educated, and skilled. However, I had an occlusal adjustment and suffered TMJ injury and extreme facial pain. He never told me of this possible side effect or outcome which was very disappointing. In addition, he didn't help manage my pain other than tell me to take ibuprophen. I ended up seeing a TMJ specialist (Dr. McDaniels at the TMJ and Oral Facial Pain Centers of WI) to get the care I needed for this. I'd suggest Dr. Blake for good basic and cosmetic care, but suggest you avoid occlusal adjustments.
