A lot of thought and prayer was put into the decision to post this review, as it has been nearly a month since my husband had his wisdom teeth extraction. However, I can't bear the thought of anyone having the experience that we had. If you're looking for a short review, my answer is NO!!! Don't go here!!!! If you're wanting more detail as to why, PLEASE READ!!!!Everything/everyone seemed friendly and professional during our initial visit to Dr. Allen's office. I was educated on the "do's and dont's" for my husband for the next several days. When we arrived home I took all precautions to manage bleeding, changing gauze, keeping his head elevated, etc. About 5 hours later the bleeding had not subsided, nor had it even slowed a little bit. I am not claiming to know everything, especially about oral surgery, but I am an ER Nurse with an ICU background and know a little bit about how to control bleeding after trauma, surgery, what have you!!! After attempting all advice given to me upon leaving Dr. Allen's office earlier that day, and doing everything I could other than tying a tourniquet around my husbands neck to stop the bleeding (sarcasm), I called the office to ask if there was anything else I could do to help stop the bleeding. I spoke with a nurse named Sarah, telling her our situation. I stated that we were having to change his gauze twice as often as discussed in office and that the blood clots were dislodging when the gauze was removed, causing the bleeding to worsen. Believe it or not I know what a blood clot looks like!!!! After being quietly laughed at over the phone as if I couldn't hear her (if that is not insulting enough), I was argued with and told that it was definitely just blood tinged saliva. After about 5 miserable minutes of this discussion explaining that I knew the difference between the texture and appearance of a blood clot versus blood tinged saliva, I was told *in a highly frustrated tone* to come to the office giving nothing less than the impression that I was an idiot and she did not have time for us. I did not take my husband back in to the office because this was clearly not an emergency, I just needed advice from people who only know oral surgery and are supposed to be experts at this!! Needless to say, my husband continued to bleed for the next 4 days. Although it did decrease with each day, thankfully. After dreading his follow up appointment the entire week, the professionalism was NO better the day we had to go back. No one was friendly and they all looked at us funny. (Assuming but not accusing that they had all talked about our phone conversation the week before.) To top it off, Dr. Allen walked in very arrogant like with his introduction being "glad to see you didn't bleed out!" Very professional, right?! Our appointment was at 8:15am and we were the only ones in the whole office other than the employees, but despite the fact, Dr. Allen was in the room for a maximum of 30 seconds. In mid conversation while my husband was trying to ask him a question he turned around walked out of the room and ended the conversation abruptly while standing in the hallway. Leaving my husband and I with questions left unanswered and without the chance to discuss anything with him. I will NEVER be back in that building again!! Nor do I recommend anyone give these people your money and business!!!! Very poor EVERYTHING when it comes to this office and staff.
