First and foremost, I am given a questionnaire to fill out related to depression, when my appointment was for anxiety not depression. The medical assistant asked me you were coming in for anxiety, you answered all your questions at a zero. Correct, I was not coming in for depression. I was coming in for anxiety that is two different things. My blood pressure was 95/60 which is way below normal for me being a stroke victim.
Secondly, I discussed with my doctor, the main reason why I made the appointment is for anxiety. That I have came out of the woodwork being taken advantage of by my previous doctor.
My daughter who is also my (poa) had asked if they re-checked my blood pressure and I said no I was already in the car getting ready to leave and she insisted me to go in and have it re-checked for the sake it was very abnormal for me.
I was told by the medical assistant she was currently with a patient, and they normally don’t recheck it. (Okay no problem I can understand that and take a seat) and she would have to get the doctor‘s permission. I apologize that I was an inconvenience, perhaps I should’ve drove myself to the fire department and let them know the policy at my doctors office.
I ended up getting my blood pressure rechecked and it was 100/60. At that time I was asked with a very shitt¥ attitude, what does your daughter do?
I stated she is the the healthcare field as well as my power of attorney. Very rudely again I was advised maybe you need to go see a cardiologist instead. (Very sarcastically) Pretty sad I do have a right when it comes to my health.
But I guess it is time to find another physician when I am told at the time of making my appointment, decide which is more important, your anxiety or your joint pain. The physician only discusses one concern at an appointment. I have been to other doctors and specialists and I have never had a problem taking a list of concerns to discuss.
