A Dr who really cares is hard to find these days. Dr Hoover is a busy man,but he took time to listen and responded thoughtfully to my questions.

My husband & I have been patients of Dr. Hoover's since he came to practice in Edmond. We are always able to get in to see him, there's seldom any wait time in his office and he takes the time to listen carefully. His referrals to specialist docs have been stellar. We count on him to manage our overall health and are completely satisfied with his high level of care.

Dr. Hoover is a very nice and knowledgable physician; however, ever since he joined the Mercy network, his staff have been downright rude and unhelpful. It is my understanding that the network rotates staff members to his office. Also, it has become more difficult to get access to him when we need. We will no longer be belittled and abused by receptionists and office personnell. It is sad that after building a relationship with someone we consider a good provider, that we feel driven away to find a new provider. I cannot recommend Dr. Hoover at this time for these reasons.

Great service from a caring staff. I am usually dubious of professionals, but Dr. Hoover and his assistant showed sincere concern. I trust and recommend them.

I've been seeing Dr. Hoover for about a year, since I moved to Edmond. I chose him based upon the reviews at this and other sites. However, I don't agree with the overall positive perspective. He does seem a nice guy, but the 15 minute slots result in his rushing through the appointment, not letting me finish my sentences, and not really giving me a chance to discuss fully my concerns. Also, I haven't found him very helpful. He doesn't have much to say regarding diagnostics, treatment, etc.. and just seems bored with his job.

I was referred to Dr. Hoover by another doctor. Having Dr. Hoover as my doctor has been the a wonderful experience. He was able to diagnose me with a thyroid problem that five other doctors missed. Dr. Hoover takes the time to listen to his patients and provides excellent referrals. His staff are very helpful and courteous.

In addition to a general family practice Dr. Hoover has a Suboxone practice. I'm one of his patients for this, which means that I am a narcotics addict. As a drug addict I have seen a wide array of Doctors for many reasons both legitimate and not. And in all my experience, Dr. Hoover is by far the kindest, most compassionate physician I have ever had the privilege of encountering. He treats me as a patient - and as an adult, as a man - and not as a criminal, and understands that treatment is a profound shift in the way I think and live. He encourages, but he has never demanded or mandated. If you are in the Oklahoma area and thinking of or trying to get off H or Oxy or any other opiate I cannot argue strenuously enough that you call Dr. Hoover and ask if he is accepting Suboxone patients. If I had not called him, I would be dead today.

Excellent doctor and sincere. Was cordial talking about family, but was also able to be all about business while remaining personable (hard balance to achieve.) Very thorough on regular annual physical and helpful. Excellent listener and considerate of my concerns and questions. Did not feel hurried to be seen or shuffled out, i.e. was not treated like, "a number." Office and payment arrangements in writing were very clear, including necessary criteria for after-hours contact and care. Assistant nurse was also accomplished and capable... striking a good balance between physician care and staff care. Later followup communication regarding blood work that had been done on day of physical was extremely prompt.
