I’m surprised at the negative reviews. Every doctors office I have been to there have been long wait times. His office was busy but worth the wait to have him examine and explain what was going on. I had my left knee repaired and couldn’t be more thankful. I have my life back!

DO NOT TRUST YOUR PRECIOUS KNEES TO THIS LAZY PERSON!

One of the biggest mistakes I made in my life was trusting Dr Leone with my left knee - after the MRI showed a torn ACL & meniscus, he lazily decided the best course of action was to simply repair the meniscus. I didn't want to do this, knowing it would slow down my recovery because I'd need two surgeries, and because it was just plain stupid. Unfortunately he pressured my into the surgery by saying it was time sensitive and if I didn't do the surgery, I risked losing my meniscus. After speaking to several doctors post-surgery, they all agreed it was a very minority opinion and just as stupid as I initially thought. Not to mention my second opinion coming 6 months after I called for a second opinion... Anyhow, it's clear his knowledge is shot and he has no clue what he's doing. Checkups are also extremely fast, you barely get a chance to sit down and ask him anything because he just wants you in and out. He will talk you into whatever is easy for him & then walk away having done minimal work. He's as cocky and arrogant as others say, and his staff is also terrible. Should honestly be fired for being this incompetent.

Doctor Leone operated on my dad twice. Both had extreme life-threatening altercations after knee surgery. My father survived the first incident, and had trusted Dr Leone a second time. Upon his second surgery, my father got a terrible infection that Dr Leone failed to treat urgently. This infection spread throughout my father's knee/leg. When my dad went to emerge, where Doctor Leone was on-call; the doctor failed to arrive, or answer any urgent pages to view the oozing wound. Unfortunately, under the emergency rules, the surgeon who performs the surgery MUST review the patient in emerge. Doctor Leone was ON-SITE and seen by my parents in emerge, but failed to respond to 4 pages spreading from 9am to 4 pm. There is no documentation to explain the Doctor's whereabouts (this is a requirement from the hospital to keep track of all activity). The emerge doctor felt so terrible and kept trying to page Doctor Leone urgently, not understanding where he was or his lack of response. Once he finally arrive around 5pm, Doctor Leone viewed the wound, turned BEET RED, and ordered emergency surgery. He stated to my parents, "it's a good thing you got here when you did, or you'd be dead." MY PARENTS WAITED 8 HOURS TO EVEN BE SEEN BY DOCTOR BOLOGNA! If he had shown up sooner, maybe my dad wouldn't have gone into cardiac arrest that evening. Maybe he wouldn't have been in the ICU overnight. Maybe if he had answered the first page, he could have stopped the spread sooner. My dad was flown to Hamilton Hospital the next day. Part of me says THANK GOD because Doctor Leone seemed to not care about my father. His lack of effort to respond to emergency pages was awful. After surgery, there was a clear infection happening in my dads leg and he failed to monitor it closer. After being flown to Hamilton, my dad was on and off respiratory support. He fought for his life for an entire month to try and beat the infection Doctor Leone failed to recognize or treat accordingly. My dad died on November 3rd 2019. Leaving behind many grandchildren including a week old granddaughter, his kids, and wife. Doctor Leone is a cocky, arrogant surgeon. He thinks he is Gods gift to earth. He has absolutely horrendous bedside manner.

My only wish for him is to really look into his heart and soul and to think about who he is and how he affects and impacts others. Being a doctor is difficult and hard and stuff happens, but updating his knowledge and NOT using outdated practices or not showing up for others in an emergency is a part of his job. He should be at tip-top shape for every single surgery. And on-call means he is there. Not floating around the hospital doing who knows what.

We lost an incredible man to an incredibly arrogant, selfish doctor who needs to get a better bedside manner, treat his patients like humans, not numbers, and potentially review his surgery procedures once in a while. Experience doesn't mean you know everything and a refresher never hurt anybody.

I had Dr. Leone do a total knee replacement in 2018. Every thing was explained to me before hand and had the best care .Follow up appointments were very personal . In October last year I dislocated my knee .I had emergency surgery by another surgeon .This surgery led to another where a massive infection developed andDr. Leone took over my care and cleaned up the infection and I had to have another to finish up the final surgery . When going to follow ups at the fracture clinic Dr.Leone would n not only answer all my questions but would talk directly to me and my wife while explaining everything that was going to happen and what will happen after surgery . Nothing but excellent communications from start to finish . Anyone who gives Dr.Leone a negative report maybe the problem is you not Dr.Leone . Very professional and great bedside manners .

ROOD!!! Never met such a doctor like this one. Spent each appointment staring at the computer if I had tests done. He disregarded one of my complaints until the last 2 visits, to find out he put the right area down but wrong side. Does x-rays on the correct area plus another area but doesn't tell me what wrong with both areas. I wish a zero rating was accepted.

I am surprised that so many patients found Dr. Leone pleasant and a great doctor-surgeon. He replaced my knee in 2006 that had been badly damaged in 2003. He was rude, made appointments but then said he had to catch a plane so hurried me away. He was known at that time as a “jet setterl” leaving his patients quickly before and after the knee replacement . It is now 2021 and I am still in constant bad pain. I asked about a year ago was there anything new that would help me. The answer was to get another doctor to replace my newest knee that he had done. After reading all of these comments I believe Dr. J. Leone has a dual personality. I met the rude one too many times. Never want to see him again.
