My experience with Dr Romanow was excellent from start to finish. The staff was helpful and friendly. Every appointment was seen on time, or even early if I happened to get there sooner.

Being my 3rd FESS procedure (2016, previous in 2000 and 2001) I was expecting a similar experience. I was happy to see that things had progressed significantly since then. My recovery time was less than half that of previous procedures. Follow-ups were hassle free, and he communicated well and understood when I requested specific medications (I would need a short course of Prednisone before long trips to make sure the polyps stayed down, he knew I understood about the frequency and usage of it).

Unfortunately, he has moved on from Lahey, so I have not had any follow-ups with him in the past year. Should I need another procedure down the road, I would not hesitate at all to go back to him.

I saw him for two different issues. I had sinus infections and a deviated septum and had successful surgery years ago. I recently went to him for a sleep apnea check, and he was very helpful after the sleep study in terms of presenting multiple options, losing 20 lbs. being the best one. I found him direct.

This doctor? is an apathetic, tries to be arrogant individual, doesn’t answer the questions when asked, thinks and pretends and wants others to think he has so much expertise, that he can’t be bothered by questions, which is not the case, bad attitude, no quality, and seems like a quack, they are there for the patients, the patients are not there for them; went to him the first time when nothing was really wrong, just getting over a bad sinus cold, and he wanted me to come back for a followup, I did at my own convenience, the second time I really had a problem of hearing loss from an evil ,selfish, rough female P.A., a real quack in urgent care that caused an ear infection that I have never had in my life when I simply went in for just sore throat and cough/fever, when using the ear scope aggressively in my left ear, and this ENT dept. has been no help because Patient Relations is afraid of a lawsuit, they have been so incitefully ignorant in my efforts of getting care, and this guy’s staff, a nurse, Lynn, acts so unjustifiably rude and ignorant when I am looking for answers, and a mannish secr. Mario? yells ands hangs up when told they didn’t send the prescription to the pharmacy requested, and they don’t address you by your name because they are jealous and hateful, and none of them have a degree that is better than mine, they are just ugly, faggy show offs, the staff.

Interesting to read some of the other comments here. I was referred to him twice:
1. For possible loss of hearing. The Tech was great: efficient, knowledgeable, communicative. The the Dr parades in, glances at the results, dismisses them, and then asks why I wanted to see him. I DIDN'T. He was assigned to me. Left me with the impression that I wasted his time.
2. Was referred to him again later for a different hearing issue. He stuck the scope in my ear for 1.5 seconds (I am not exagerrating down the length of time), announced that there was no problem, and once again dismissed me with the implication that I had wasted his time.

I will be sure that I never waste his time again.

OMG! Very similar experience to other reviewers. Went in with left sinus pain. He wanted to operate on the right side. I said my pain is on the left side. He said I can look at that "if you want me to while I operate on the right side!!! I said that's fine, I'll think about it. and left.

I had the same experience as the person who wrote the comment before me. He was very uninterested and also suggested that I have surgery. I had only been in there for 15 minutes when he told me this. I had gone in for sinusitis and next thing I know he's telling me I need surgery for my deviated septum. He also told me that my chronic sinusitis had nothing to do with my septum, but yet he wanted me to have an operation! He hardly even examined me to see where my pain was for the sinusitis. Don't go to him!

Visit was for ongoing sinusitis. Seemed very uninterested in recommeding treatment for my symptoms and said I needed a CT scan and probably surgery before I even left his office. I felt this visit was a waste of my time. I would not visit this Dr again and I would never recommend him.

My treatement by Dr Romanow was disjointed, half way through the appointment (he was 45 minutes late for a scheduled appointment) I asked him if he was reading the correct medical record. He curtly glared at me and asked me my date of birth. We finally got back on track then he minimized my symptoms and led me to the secretary'e office. I thought he was taking me to the principle for punishment. The secretary asked when I could "take the test," I asked " what test. " She asked didn't the Dr. explain the test I said no- he was treating me reading the incorrect medical record. She rolled her eyes and explained what I had to do next. I am suppose to have a follow up with this physician- now I think not.

Rude. Only interested in doing surgery, did not check for allergies. Told me allergy shots are only for people in the armed forces.
