Spent 15 minutes with this guy getting a talk on the theory of evolution. He was no help to me. I haven't heard of any success stories with this guy. I'd suggest you request a Neurologist in Summerside or outside of province! There's always one bad apple in the basket.

Have to give high scores because of this website's restriction, but this arrogant, blatant, useless doctor is not worthy of the given score.

This "Doctor" spent 22 minutes examining scans from 4 years ago when there were more recent scans available. He commented a number of times on my appearance, love life, social circle, and employment all very negatively. Having had brain surgery 3 months prior to seeing him, he suggested I take up downhill skiing and yoga. He sits way to close for a patient to be comfortable, without allowing for any personal space and much to my relief, a friend has told me he did the same thing to her. I would sooner travel to Halifax to see another neurologist next time. On the upside, his receptionist was wonderful. At the end of the day, I was no wiser about the problem than I was when I went in. He did not address even one issue.

He was rude and derogatory towards myself and other MDs who were working on my behalf. He would not listen to what I was trying to tell him, always interrupting and talking about his personal likes and dislikes, with nothing to do with what I was talking about. I would never recommend him to anyone.

Don't waste your time with this clown. Too proud to admit that he didn't know what I have. Said I needed to meditate. Wow. I can get better advice from my Mom. He is judgemental, condescending, a snob, and has a semi-god complex. Go out of province if you need a real neurologist...

It is difficult to have confidence in any diagnosis or advice offered by this neurologist. The lack of professionalism is not condusive to feeing comfortable in the level of care you are receiving. If the option is available, ask to be referred out of province.

I took my father to see Dr. Silverberg and had an awful experience. He didn’t introduce himself or shake our hands, which I felt was a sign of poor patient skills. From the moment we began speaking, he started shaking his head and didn’t listen to a word we said. He was unwilling to listen to our concerns or provide us with any information to back up why he felt all our thoughts or suggestions were wrong, although we respected his medical opinion. I brought current medical literature with me, regarding my father’s medical problem, to ask some questions about (I am in my final year of med school) and he told me it was incorrect and not to believe what I read (umm… how are we supposed to learn anything in med school if we don’t read medical literature?). On top of it all, he made an insulting reference by equating our eastern background and beliefs to “Kung Fu Panda.” This doctor is rude, condescending, unwilling to listen, and lacking medical knowledge.

I had a bad experience with this doctor. Perhaps he knows a lot about the conditions he treats most often, but he does not seem to have any interest in learning about other conditions that may be more rarely seen. It's easier to diagnose someone with anxiety, if you don't know what is going on with them, than it is to take the time to investigate their symptoms properly and perhaps learn something new. Fortunately, my GP did not agree with his diagnosis either and refered me to another neurologist who actually listened, did the appropriate objective testing, diagnosed and treated my neurological condition. Unfortunately, I felt unwell, missed work, and did not receive treatment for an extra 6 months or so because of the time wasted waiting to see Dr. Silverberg.

Dr. S was quite helpful and does not have the usual 'I'm a doctor and you're not' thing going on; I did like that; we got a little sidetracked about my actual reason for seeing him but that was my fault, and we reached a conclusion as to what should be done.
