My dad was admitted to Scarborough Hospital after he aspirated which lead to pneumonia in both of his lungs. After a few days in Medicine, he became critical and was under the care of Dr. Clasky and his ICU team. I’ve met many doctors over the course of my dad’s care, but rarely have I met one like him. He cares incredibly not only for his patients, but their families. The other reviews already detailed how he takes the time to really get to know the patient and their families wishes, gives you his personal number (and yes, he actually answers), and does his job with so much compassion and empathy. Being an ICU doctor was clearly his calling.

My dad was moved from a private to a 4 person room and immediately deteriorated. Dr.Clasky told us the next 24-48 hours would be critical. Unfortunately, the private was already allocated to another patient. I asked Dr.Clasky if there was a way we could get him back to a private given my dad was now critical and if things took a turn, I did not want other patients and their families around. He responded with “leave this with me, I will work on it”. 24 hours later, my dad was back in a private.

Of course no one hopes to have ICU physicians as part of your loved ones care, but since we now do, I’m grateful that we have Dr.Clasky and his incredible team in our side to give my Dad a fighting chance.

I asked Dr.Clasky if he had ever seen his reviews on here. He said “he doesn’t look but his children tell him.” So from the daughter of one of your dad’s patients, thank you for sharing your incredible father with us. He has made all the difference to my family and I. Fighting for my dad to receive the best care possible so he can go home and continue his happy life with us.

I was priviledged to meet Dr. Clasky only the one time, when my Husband was in the Cardiac ICU at SGH back in September of 2022. He supervised the Code Blue and somehow managed to call me twice during it to make sure myself and my family knew to get there as soon as we could. Unfortunately, my husband didn't make it. This was not unexpected.
Dr. Clasky is an absolute gentleman, and an angel. He could teach a few of the Cardiologists at SGH something about bedside manners and how to deal with patients and families in general. He is a lovely man; kind and compassionate. I dislike doctors in general, but Dr. Clasky is an exception. He was so kind to us in our grief.
He is outstanding. I can't say enough about how great of a healer he is.

Dr. Clasky is truly a special doctor and human being. He was one of the doctors taking care of my Mom in the ICU in 2017 for 5 months on life support and again when she returned to the ICU in April 2022. She passed away on 10 May. Dr. Clasky and the ICU team valued her life, despite her advanced age. They saw how every day with us counted and they did everything they could to save her life and to allow her the space and time to recover. Because of his care and that of the ICU Team, we were able to enjoy another 5 years with our Mom. Her health deteriorated again at the beginning of 2022 and again she entered SGH at the end of January and spent the last 3 weeks of her life in the ICU with Dr. Clasky and some of the team from Mom's 2017 sojourn. What was truly amazing is that I kept in touch with Dr. Clasky over the past 5 years, updating him on Mom's health status. He always answered every text. Beyond the very good care, what was the most outstanding in 2017 and 2022 was the fact that Dr. Clasky made himself available to sit and talk with us as a family, giving his best advice as a specialist, negotiating visits for us but also listening to us and helping us to process our emotional pain as her life was ending. He treated Mom and the family with the utmost compassion and care as if we were part of his very own family. It was truly a priviledge that Mom was able to have him as her Doctor. I will never forget him.

What a blessing to have Dr Clasky in the ICU unit where my brother lies very ill, and the care he is reciving as he is going to make it through even though we the family were well informed by Doctor Clasky.

So compassionate and helpful. Listens, helps and says it as it is. Amazing Doctor and always available to answer questions. Our father passed away yesterday after 5 months in ICU and Critical Care we could not have received more help, especially as we are in UK and yet he called us regularly with updates. Incredible. We got to meet him this week in person and are in awe of his compassionate and common sense.

Dr Howard is a Doctor of hope. He is so helpful and cordial that is really amazing. His behaviour helps to get hope in patients.
