After spending 3 1/2 weeks in a hospital, I was given the news that I had a few weeks to live, there was no treatment for the cancer I had. My CA125 was over 65000 and nothing could be done. Through a gardian angel Dr. Boike was recomended to me. Together we have fought my cancer with being honest with each other, Dr. Boike has never given me false hope,he did not always tell me what I wanted to hear, but together we worked through my criticail times and today I have returned to work etc. Dr. Boike's staff has never been any thing less than professional, caring and understanding. I have been going to Dr. Boike for 2 yrs plus now and to me, he is the best. I would recommed him to, my family, friends or whoever conacted me about him as a Dr. I would recomend him.

This doctor did not make a person feel like he was on your side of the cancer fight. He was abrasive, not willing to answer detailed questions and overall not someone I would ever refer a friend to.

He didn't bother to see me before or after my surgery. He didn't do the proper tests before surgery such as a CT, CA125, or even EKG. Because I didn't have the CA125, we can't use it as a marker for recurrence. I feel that he was using outdated methods for my condition. His nurse never returned calls, and I would wait and wait for prescriptions and test results, calling back and feeling like I was a 'bother'. I am much happier seeing a different oncologist.

This doctor opened up my daughter without being fully knowledgable about her case only to find that she was full of cancer. She died shortly after with complication of this surgery making her short time left unbearable. Had he been prepared he wouldn't have opened her up and her remaining few months would not have made her a prisoner to a wheelchair till her death. He didn't even come out to speak to the family after he did this. Poor and disgusting and I would never recommend him to anyone. Make sure you do your homework before seeing this guy.

I feel this Dr. needs to improve his skills in several areas. #1: Recognizing and correctly addressing dementia patients who come to him for Tx. Dont let Pt.s make Tx decisions without finding out if they are competant to decide. #2: He could also benefit from using current oncology Dx tools (DNA markers). #3: I recommend he recheck for changing/exacerbating Tx needs in familiar Pts. who have previously been Dxd as benign. #4: Consider the Pt.s whole quality of life and not just the tumor status, i.e. if a Pt. has an exceptionally large benign growth, is their quality of life being affected positively or negatively and would they benefit from surgery to improve their quality of life in spite of having a benign growth?
