I have been a patient of Dr. Gerber for a good number of years and have never encountered any issues. However, since moving to his Flowery Branch location, I have been very displeased. I went in for my annual exam a few weeks ago. I was caught off-guard when his nurse practicioner examed me without my previous consent. I had never even met her before. She proceeded to sit there and inform me all about her personal issues with her former husband. Well, when I was checking out, the receptionist gave me a slip of paper instructing me how to pull up my test results online. I waited about a week and tried to pull up my results. I wasn't able to log-in because the information was incorrect. So, a few days later, I went to the office with my daughter who had an appointment. I, again, asked the receptionist for the correct log-in information and she wrote down something completely different from what she had given me before. I took it home and tried to log-in, again. No luck. About that time, the nurse practicioner called. She said my Pap results showed abnormal cells, but that it was probably "no big deal" and I didn't need to be seen for another year. WHAT??? I have a lot of cancer in my family, so that didn't set too well with me. I, immediatelly, called Dr. Gerber's office requesting that HE call me about my results. His receptionist said he'd call at the end of the day. No call ever came. I called back the next day and was told the same thing...no call ever came. I called 3 different times and Dr. Gerber never called. I even called baack this morning and was told that he was pulling up my results and would call me in a few mins...that was over an hour ago. I am fed up! Tomorrow, I plan to find a new doctor...one who won't leave me hanging! He really need to get rid of his terrible office staff ASAP!

The office staff is the worst of any physician I have ever been to. Rude and unprofessional. Dr. Gerber-you are only as good as your staff.

We based our decision to choose this doctor for maternity care based on reviews, although they were old reviews at the time we needed to choose a doctor. As the pregnancy progressed, I was shocked by some of the behaviors of the staff. I've never been in a physician's office where I've actually been appalled by the behaviors. I see that other patients have experienced some of the same issues we discovered. I've never written a review for a physician, and I've never had to change a physician based on a lack of professionalism until now. This office is in dire need of professional management. If you don't mind things like front desk personnel talking across a full waiting room to a patient about insurance and financial matters, staff talking to each other about other patients where the waiting room can hear, staff talking to each other about inappropriate topics, rude technicians, lack of communication of so-called policies, rude and defensive behavior when questioned, then choose this practice. While I think the doctor may possess the knowledge necessary to treat his patients, it seems apparent that he is not addressing the issues in his office. It's really a shame that these easily rectified issues are not addressed because this is a new office location, conveniently located to our home. We were hoping to get a more personalized care because of the sole practitioner aspect. However, it has been a very disappointing experience during, what should be, the most exciting time in a woman's life.

I have been under the care of Dr. Gerber for my entire pregnancy. . . Up until 35 weeks. At 35 weeks pregnant, I made the (scary) decision to switch doctors due to the blatant lack of consideration by Dr. Gerber and his staff. Since my first visit, it's been obvious to me that the office staff is TOTALLY unprofessional. They constantly chat loudly about their personal lives, inappropriately discuss private patient concerns like insurance information and medical conditions in front of an entire waiting room of patients. This was something that I looked past. When I was about 33 weeks, I felt some unsettling pressure on my cervix. I knew this could be totally normal, however due to my mother's history, I was concerned enough to ask to be seen before my appointment. The nurse all but argued with me over the phone, telling me that it was normal. At the beginning of my pregnancy, I brought to Dr. Gerber's attention that my mother had an incompetent cervix and it was something that I was concerned about. He basically brushed me off and referred to the fact that I am a young and healthy mother, so he wouldn't be doing a pelvic exam. (My age has nothing to do with the condition.) After fighting for an appointment over the phone, I saw the nurse practitioner (Kim Kobetich). She argued with me for 40 minutes about why she did not want to check my cervix. I finally left, with no reassurance. At my next appointment, I was seen by Kim again. My mother accompanied me this time, because I requested her presence because she had more experience with my concern. (And because I needed someone else to witness how ridiculously difficult it was to have my concerns heard.) Kim, once again, argued that it was normal to the point me being angry. She came up with EVERY kind of excuse to not check my cervix. After about 30 minutes and my mother and I becoming visibly angry, she said that she would check me. She reassured me that because a pelvic exam is what I wanted, at my next appointment I would have one. At my 35 week appointment, the office staff asked my mother and me in front of a room full of patients about deductibles being paid and remaining balances. So unprofessional. Then, when Daddy and I went to the ultrasound room, I asked him to get my mom and my sister. (They had been before into the ultrasound room.) The ultrasound technician was immediately rude to my mother and said that she had to go make sure it was okay for them to be in the room. When she left the room, I looked up to see a HIPPA violation literally on a big screen. This technician had someone else's records displayed for for he world to see, but she was concerned with the number of people in the room. So she goes out into the open, speaks to Dr. Gerber and the other staff about my mother and sister being in the room. My sister left and was in the waiting room where the office staff in the front were also talking about the situation. After ALL of this, she does the ultrasound with my sister and mother in the room, with an attitude. I was seen, once again, by Kim and was not given a pelvic exam. Dr. Gerber did not even have the courtesy to pop his head in to make sure everything was okay. When I left, I immediately started seeking alternate care and requested a transfer of my records. If you want to be pacified, ignored, and have your privacy disrespected, go to this practice.

I have been going to see Dr. Gerber for the last 5 years. I loved him! He was very friendly and answered any questions that I had. He did move locations a few times, which was annoying, but still not a deal breaker. Last time I went in for my annual, it was in April, by the way, I did not receive my results for almost 4-5 months AND THAT'S AFTER I continuously called and ask, but did not get an answer or simply no one called me back. OH AND on top of that after I did get a hold of someone, apparently it was my fault for not following up. " We call once and leave a voicemail"....exact words. Here's the cherry on top: I had trouble with my bill FROM THE SAME VISIT, and after trying to resolve it for over a month, I gave up after speaking with a rude girl who told me to " Call your insurance because you clearly need an explanation" ...my jaw dropped. Dr. Gerber--where is your old staff? This one sucks.

Dr. Gerber and his staff are wonderful. He spends as much time with you as you need explaining everything in detail and makes you feel like you've been a patient of his for years. He is friendly, compassionate and knowledgeable. I found the staff from the front office to the medical assistant/nurses to be friendly and informative.

I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes to be seen by the nurse practitioner, then she didn't even call in my prescription. The front staff was loud, and I heard all of their private conversations. They constantly put calls on hold, and waited too long to answer the calls. I'm going to look for a new ob/gyn.

Part 1-we have been a patient with Dr. Gerber for 3 years. We have always had appts with the nurse practioners and had great results. We made the decision to remove ourselves as patients based on our experience with the office staff. Our 2nd experience with the office staff consisted of them contacting us for an appt. and making the appt. Upon arrival of our appt. the PA informed us that if they saw us that day insurance would not pay due to the month of scheduling had not been a year. We had to reschedule and were treated rudely by the front staff with I questioned why would they have called and scheduled us for a date that would not be covered. We have driven from Athens, 1 hour for the appt. On our 3rd experience I was cut off mid sentence.
