Amazing doctor. He did my emergency salpingectomy and was phenomenal through the whole thing.

My wife and I recently had a C section birth of our second child, and the experience was flawless from start to finish. Dr Barreth is a fantastic doctor + surgeon ! He is extremely calm, charismatic, knowledgeable and has an amazing sense of humour. My wife was very anxious about her procedure, and Barreth put her at ease before and during the operation. We would highly recommend him.

If you want a Dr to judge you and make rude comments to your face then he's your guy!
I've never witnessed anything like it. And whatever you do please don't have your baby at night and call him in... He will give you attitude and clearly be mad that he was called in.
Years ago he use to be a nice guy, now he's miserable and clearly doesn't enjoy his job anymore.

I have to laugh when I see people describe dr Barreth as having good bedside manners because that is not my experience at all. Dr barreth treated me like an inconvenience and was not respectful and did not treat me like a person(DURING my C-section nonetheless). He didn’t even look at my partner or speak to him once when we were talking everything over.

If you catch this guy on a bad day or when he doesn’t want to be called in at nighttime don’t expect him to really care about you. He will use his nice facade to get you to feel just comfortable enough to do what he thinks is best with no regard for your wishes or concerns.

Dr Barreth was amazing! I had him with all
Three of my pregnancies (c-sections). Last pregnancy had some complications but he followed up and answered all my extensive questions. He was right to the point always asked if I had questions and if I was okay, amazing bed side manner and if I have another I will definitely Be back. His staff is also amazing!!

It’s important to have a good bedside manner. Verbal abuse is insidious when insulting somebody, yet insisting it was a joke.

Amazing doctor. I had a complicated pregnancy and he made me very comfortable and never rushed my hundreds of questions. He took all my complications serious. His nurse was great to deal with and always was always available to give me direction when needed. I am a first time mom and they made me feel heard. I will be requesting him for any future gyno/ob needs.

I had Dr Barreth for both my pregnancies. I felt very rushed for my appointments. I had borderline pre eclampsia with my first daughter so they started inducing be just before I was 38 weeks and my daughter was born healthy. I didn't have him for delivery though I had Dr Muir, who was on call.

For my second, I had very high blood pressure and he refused to induce me. I begged and I cried because I was so terrified. I was already 40 weeks but he wouldn't. Finally he agreed to and gave me instructions to call the hospital. So I call the hospital for 4 days and each day they refused me saying I wasn't a priority. So finally I said, how am I not a priority, my blood pressure is through the roof and I have a history of pre eclampsia. I went to the hospital to be monitored, and the on call locum OB was floored and said why the heck weren't you induced. They were worried I was going to have a stroke my bp was so high! They induced me then and there and my daughter was born within 24 hours healthy with no complications. I felt he was negligent because I was already overdue and in a dangerous position. Thankfully there were no complications. I am sure he is a great doctor, but my with my second I didn't have the best experience and it was scary.

He did 'judge' & indirectly lay the fault on me for short notice for changing method of birth until I directly informed him of my previous requests
to family doctor , concerns with size of baby & 2 previous c sections history that I forced the referral at the end. When that was resolved, He became friendly, attentive to my concerns & knowledgeable about the procedure.
Until my husband, who was running 10 mins behind,showed up.
His entire demeanor drastically changed; became cold, appeared annoyed & irritable, when I asked more questions, with short responses only.
Did not and would not acknowledge my husbands presence : Ignored his questions & concerns outright , he would not look at him when speaking to me & rushed us out.
At the end , Dr Barreth shook my hand but left my husband 'hanging' for his handshake. It was awkward. He seemed almost disgusted by him, as if his nose was up in the air. Nor husband & I have experienced this type of treatment.
It was very odd, uncomfortable and unprofessional. I did not trust the sudden & drastic change in a medical professional to perform surgery on me. I immediately requested a transfer of Gynecologists due to the experience.

Dr Barreth performed my newborns circumcision. I was extremely nervous but he was very friendly, funny and calming. I trusted him immediately and our results were fabulous! Thank you!
