I went to Dr Gold for ear pain. He looked in my ear and said he 'did not any sign of an infection and if I thought he would give painkillers I was mistaken'. He made it sound as if I was a drug addict or something. Needless to say he is no longer my physician.

My father in-law has prostate cancer. My husband felt he has some same symptoms. He asked Dr. Gold for a prostate examination. Dr. Gold said that it isn't hereditary so refused to arrange a checkup for him. We changed the insurance (HMO Aetna) and the doctor. The doctor he is seeing now told him Prostate cancer is hereditary. And his PSA result is 5.8 (<4.0 is normal). My husband will see a radiologist for the biopsy next week. We are keeping our fingers crossed.

Family has used Dr Gold for 8+ years. He knows his limits and refers to specialists whenever he is unsure. Dr. Gold can be finesse as well as be blunt, does what he needs to, to get the patient (usually me) to listen.

I was very disgusted with what had occured to me recently. He asked me what I was taking for pain and I told him Ibuprofen. He told me he did not want me taking ibuprofen or tylenol and prescribed me something that i had an allergic reaction to. I called the office to find out what I could take for pain since I can't take ibuprofen or tylenol. the nurse called me back and said the doctor said I can take Advil. i argued with the nurse and said that is ibuprofen and she told me that they are different. she went and talked to the doctor and appologized to me and said advil is the same as ibuprofen and the doctor said you can take tylenol. I was confused at this time. why would he tell me not to take something and then tell me to take it. I said this to the nurse and she said that the doctor told her that I told the doctor that ibuprofen was upsetting my stomach... which i never said! I fired him after this. While feeling sick and to go through this is wrong. He just couldn't be bothered.

A nodule was found on my thyroid when I had a ultrasound done, however my Dr. never told me it was found?? When a specialist told me just by looking at my throat that my thyroid was swollen, I told him I had had an ultrasound done months ago, so he got the report from the hospital and told me I had a nodule on my thyroid! I was shocked and very upset that my Dr. wouldn't tell me this! I need to be monitored every three months to see if it grows at this point, and he wasn't even going to tell me it existed! I'm going to change to another practice as soon as time allows!! OF COURSE!!
