A horrible experience with Joe. He was called in as a consultant to ask my wife mid labor to sign a form which basically said we are ignoring their advice and if anything happens to baby/wife the hospital is not liable.
We simply didnt want them invasively examing her, setting up monitoring and distrubting her birth plan.
After my wife signed it he continued to give examples in a condescending manner about our decision.
Joe committed to guilt tripping and stated he felt sorry for me based on my wife's decision.
For context, mum was in stage 2, could feel baby's head with her fingers, baby's heart rate was in healthy range and she was working through her contractions. Our plan was challenged every half hour by numerous midwife's. In the end it was a successful natural birth, baby and mum are great but the coercion, bullying, fear mongering was not helpful. They need to respect a woman in mid Labor with no signs of distress and ensure they leave the rooms when asked to do so.
