Dr. Paul Cannistraro has been my psychopharmacologist M.D. for OCD and depression and has helped me get my life back since I have begun seeing him for medication therapy visits many years ago. He is very friendly, caring, and concerned about my thoughts and input in the treatment plans we talk about for me. I am SO grateful that he has been my doctor for over 10 years , as he has helped me find a way to find happiness and and how to now lead a fulfilling life since I have begun seeing him as a patient. Dr. Cannistraro helped me have a second chance at life. I was at the height of my OCD and barely functional when I contacted him. I knew from the first moment that he would be a huge help to me. The first medication he prescribed worked wonders and unlike many people I didn’t have to try several medications to find one that worked. He has a great bedside manner which puts you at ease and makes it easy to open up to him. He is the most knowledgeable person I know about OCD and its treatment with medication. He is professional, courteous, polite, smart and street smart, punctual, caring and has a sense of humor which always helps. I give him my highest recommendation. Was on time, prepared, and thorough. Very formal at first, but personable once in the session. He was able to explain the difference between anxiety and OCD, and recommended a personalized treatment for my particular case. Showed great understanding of his discipline, as well as understanding my particular situation, and how the two related. Excellent doctor.

Dr. Cannistraro is extremely knowledgeable about various treatments for OCD. While his specialty is medication, he is not looking to medicate everything. He highly recommends patients also pursue other treatments along with the medications. He very punctual and extremely professional. His office in Harvard Square is very clean and comfortable. An excellent doc all around.
