I had hemorrhoid issue for over 10 years. Visited numerous other physicians across multiple states (but no progress; every visit, they talk, talk and same prescription in the end which is over the counter cream and eat more fiber).
Found Dr. David on yelp and tried a visit. Felt authentic; though Dr.David does not accept insurance, his charges are comparable to out of pocket insurance costs.
For last 2 years, I am living without the stress of bleeding and I eat all junk now without fear :-)

I found Dr. Rosenfeld after having a less than stellar experience with a different proctologist. I was cursed with having a hemorrhoid issue that agitated me all day every day. After some trial and error with taking some supplements to hopefully alleviate the hemorrhoid issue, we went forward with doing the procedure of rubber band laparoscopy. Dr. Rosenfeld made the procedure as quick and easy as possible. It went off without a hitch and I am now living happily hemorrhoid free!

I’d been dealing with pain from a chronic fissure off and on for a couple of years. This time around it wasn’t healing and when I finally got into Dr. Rosenfelds office I was told my fissure had also turned into a partial fistula and that I would need surgery to fix the issue. I was terrified from not ever having had surgery before and had all kinds of concerns and fears. From the surgery itself, to how well I would heal afterwards, if there would be any lifelong issues I’d be left with, to how I’d deal with the recovery portion. Dr Rosenfeld did his best to answer my questions and make me feel at ease through the whole process. Once I went in for the surgery it was done in no time and I was awake and still alive!!! and realized I had spent weeks stressing over nothing. I was fine. I asked to add-on the slow release pain reliever that was offered and it helped immensely. I was half way there, the hard part was done and now I just needed to get through recovery. The first week wasn’t easy but to be honest wasn’t as bad and grueling as I’d expected it to be. It took me a couple of days to get the hang of packing my own gauze but I was able to figure out what worked for me and once I did I was golden. I packed my gauze while seated on the John (tmi) but it worked. The first 3 Days were probably the worst and after day 4 I could tell I was getting somewhere. I listened to all the advice I got from the dr. I took the pain killers as needed and gauged when I could lessen the dosage (I drank some milk of magnesia during this time to counteract the constipation side effects), I slept as much as I could during the first two weeks to allow my body to heal on overdrive(I feel like this was key to quick healing), I drank tons of water, I ate light and easy (the easier to digest the better for the wound), sat in the tub after each bowel, used a gentle skin cleanser and I took my fiber daily. All of these things combined worked and every day was easier the the day before. It took me 8 weeks to fully heal and after the first two the gauze packing was second nature and didn’t hurt to pack or remove. It’s been 3 months since my surgery and I feel better than I did for the last few years. I feel normal again and I don’t have that pesky tag anymore which is a plus. Everything feels nice and smooth and it’s cliche but I feel like I got my life back. I recommend the surgery to anyone in that same situation! Dr Rosenfeld, the ladies on his team and the surgery center were awesome. They make the experience comfortable and professional. I will recommend anyone with bumm issues to him forever without a doubt!

I have been a patient of Dr. Rosenfeld's for over 15 years and even though I no longer live in California I still come back to see him regularly. He is clearly an expert in his area of practice, and has a gentle manner that can put even the most anxious patient at ease.

To my surprise, this was the most pleasant doctor's visit I've ever had. I had been very nervous (and embarrassed) to make the appointment, so I put it off for months just hoping my pain would go away. Dr. Rosenfeld and his staff were professional and friendly (with a bit of humor) that immediately put me at ease. Just describing my issue, Dr. R expertly diagnosed the problem (which he then confirmed in the exam). The exam itself ended up being no big deal - way more modest than even a pap smear. And I was prepared for the worst, but the solution was an ointment and more fiber. Overall, a wonderful Doctor and an easy experience. Don't put off your appointment!

I had an anal fistula which had developed from an abscess last year. I was in moderate to severe pain daily for almost a year. My current insurance kaiser could not see me at the time due to covid. I was in daily pain at this time and couldn’t handle it anymore. So I did my research and looked up proctologists private practice. It was a blessing in disguise. I came across Dr. David Rosenfeld TOP practice in Thousand Oaks. It had a lot of great reviews so I set up an appointment to go see for myself. From the minute I walked into the facility office I already knew why people were raving so highly about this place. Genesis and Ruby were the first people I interacted with upon my first visit. They made me feel very welcomed and comfortable. Being in a situation where you are having anal rectal issues is very uncomfortable and embarrassing for a lot of people. So their comfort, welcoming, knowledge me made me feel very less nervous. Then I met Dr. Rosenfeld. He was very welcoming and open as soon as we spoke. The minute we started to converse and discuss my issue I knew I could
Trust this Dr. and he knew what he was doing. He doesn’t treat you like any patient. He treats you like your a personal friend and you can tell he really cares about your situation. He did his first assessment on me which is not awkward at all because of his professionalism. He diagnosed me and told me I had to get surgery for my condition. I was nervous and scared because I never had surgery before but I knew in my gut if I needed this procedure this is the right Dr. to do it. I called the next day set up my operation and had my surgery done within a month. The office kept me up to date weekly on what I have to do post op and what to do on the day of surgery. I even saw Dr. Rosenfeld a few days before my surgery and he comforted me and he even thanked me that I would trust him with my condition and his work. Day of surgery came and it was no different. Professionalism, kindness, and welcoming open arms from the minute I walked in. I had it done at aspen surgery center in Simi Valley which by the way is also an amazing center I could talk about to. Thank you aspen surgery center to admitting, nurses, and anesthesiologists. Dr. Rosenfeld came to greet me, explained everything that was going to happen, and comforted me. I was in and out of surgery which felt like 5 mins but it was about 2 hours. The minute I woke up even being in mild pain I already felt 100 times better than I did before. I saw him the following 2 day because he wanted to make sure I was healing properly. I’ve seen him every 1-2 weeks since surgery because he still is making sure my wound that I got from the procedure is healing. I’m going on 4 weeks post-op and I feel better than ever. Back to my daily routine like nothing happened. So I just want to thank The TOP staff for always be so nice, comforting, and helpful. I bugged them a few times for paperwork for my job but they did not seem bothered at all and gave me all the paperwork I needed with no hesitation. And thank you so much Dr. Rosenfeld for giving me back my quality of life. You really are a lifesaver! I would give the place 100 stars if I could. If you are having anal rectal issues you need someone who knows what they are doing. Dr. Rosenfeld does not only exceed in his knowledge and work of this specialty but he really does care about you as a person.

I was referred to Dr Rosenfeld by my GP. as my condition required specialist attention. Dr Rosenfeld correctly diagnosed my problem on my first visit and started treatment right away. It did require some surgery however Dr Rosenfeld clearly explained the process and recovery. I am pleased to report things went exactly as described without complications. Rectal medical problems can be embarrassing and difficult to discuss...however this is not the case with Dr Rosenfeld. This is his specialty so no need to feel awkward about these things here. I do not normally write reviews but this time I make the exception for a excellent Dr with great staff. I was very lucky to find him and am fully recovered from a very uncomfortable condition.

Dr. Rosenfeld literally ended a 6 month period of daily pain by clearly diagnosing and quickly changing course in the needed treatment. The end result was a pain free, awesome vacation right after surgery and getting back to a pain free, normal life long after. Thanks, Doc!

Biography

As a proctologist, Dr. Rosenfeld’s goal is to offer excellent care in the field of proctology and colonoscopy. He and his staff are committed to providing a warm, caring and compassionate environment for the patient. Those seeking a proctologist are typically in pain, frightened and embarrassed about their condition. It is important for the patient to feel comfortable in order to facilitate a discussion of his/her problems which maximizes the doctor’s ability to give the best care possible. Dr. Rosenfeld’s goal is to offer up to date medical treatment with a 1950′s bedside manner. Although my training in surgery and my subspecialty of proctology was based on Western Medicine philosophy, my practice approach includes a holistic ideology as well. All patients are different, therefore the one size fits mentality is not the way to practice medicine. I firmly believe in natural and conservative therapies for healing and reserve surgery for times when it becomes the best option or is the only option. I begin therapy, when appropriate, with all natural products to improve colorectal and anorectal health. These products include unadulterated PERFECT P.O.O.P. psyllium based fiber, natural plant based (bioflavonoid) antioxidants to shrink hemorrhoids, probiotics, prebiotics with other natural ingredients like L-Glutamine and Aloe Vera extract for improving intestinal health and encourage more water intake. Prior to determining if hemorrhoid surgery is necessary I can painlessly treat internal hemorrhoids in the office as the first line of therapy. For the majority of patients therapy along with all natural supplements work very well to avert surgery for the issue. When surgery or a procedure such as a colonoscopy is necessary, I use the latest proven technology along with the newest proven methods available. The best way to offer effective, caring and nurturing health care is to listen to the patients, make a diagnosis and, when appropriate, use both a holistic practice in conjunction the Western practices of Medicine. Both philosophies have their advantages and when used together can be more effective than done individually.
