I started seeing doctor Bean in 2001 for a surgical fusion dr. Bean explain everything that was going to happen and more than likely what was going to happen in the future well here I am 5 cervical fusions later and I'm new that I would have to have additional surgeries because Dr Pekin explain that to me I don't know what I'm going to do when he retires he's the only one I trust I wonderful doctor will take his time to explain whatever you need him to explain and I yes I still am in pain but that is not due to anything that doctor being did or didn't do it's just something more than likely will be there till the day I die but as far as dr. Bean goes I would recommend him to anyone that needs this type of surgery his office is great yes I agree some aren't as nice as others but his office works well the waiting time yes sometimes you have to wait because he has emergencies that he has to deal with other times you're there and out and yes you are more knowledgeable about the problem you're having when you do walk out you are very informed about your problem dr. Bean is a 5 star doctor

Dr. Bean is the ONLY surgeon I trust OR WANT! Have waited ALMOST 3 months. He is worth it! He cares. I AM scheduled with Dr. Bean. 3/20. It's the only good thing this last HORRIBLE year with my son dying. Just got rid of a very bad boyfriend. I can't take not having my Dr. Dr. Bean! I came ON Thanksgiving. On vacation for December. I waited. Lots of pain. Because I want MY Dr. It's why I am in Kentucky. Please don't let me down. Please. Thank You. Dr. Brooks is not YOU. I want my surgeon. Please Dr. Bean.
Hope Harlan

I used Dr. Bean for a cervical discectomy back in 1993. First appointment, I was to be seen at 2:30 and was not seen until 4:30. He looked at my MRI, showed me where the trouble was and said he was going on vacation and we could do it before or after his time away. I then called him out on the length of time I'd had to wait. Surgery went well, relief in my arm pain but not my back. He was never there when I needed to refill meds for pain so the other members of his group then, Dr. Travis, Dr. Mortara and Dr. Brooks, seeing I was not abusive, would write the prescriptions. After a year of this, I finally actually saw him for a written refill and he refused, saying, "I NEVER keep anybody on this kind of medicine this long. That usually culminates in the termination of the dr./patient relationship" and left me hanging. I collected my records and went to someone else who has a much more defined sense of compassion. 26 years later, I am still in pain, never a day free from it. I think that's enough said for anyone to evaluate how I feel about his style of practicing medicine and the treatment of his patients. This is my opinion.

Dr Bean performed my lumbar laminectomy a few years ago. I wish I had read his reviews before seeing him. He is very straightforward but he also is done with you when he sees fit. I told him; after my appointment to make sure everything was ok; after surgery that I still hurt and was having issues with my back. He told me I was just going to have to live with it and he was done. There wasn't anymore he could do for me. I left his office in tears, I didn't want to just live with it. I won't see him again!!!!!

Love Dr. Bean. He gave me my life back. Tool the time to answer all my questions and address my fears. Came to see me after church on Sunday, which a lot of won't do.

He simply "states the facts." No explanation. In order to find out anything more you must play 20 questions, while he very "flippantly" responds. I waited over an hour for him, then it seemed his mind was elsewhere (lunch, perhaps?) than on me. I won't be back.

Dr Bean performed my lumbar microdiscectomy in 2012. I had seen an orthopedic surgeon for a few months prior to Dr Bean as I attempted physical therapy and epidural steroid injections I knew surgery was the only option left but was not ready to proceed with the orthopedic surgeon. I heard Dr Bean and Dr Brooks were excellent diagnosticians and surgeons. I made an appt with Dr Bean and we reviewed my history together. He took the time to address all my concerns about surgery. When I went into surgery I felt confident it was the right thing to do. The surgery went well with no complications. It is nearly 2015 and I am still pain free.

Dr. Bean performed my Lumbar Surgery on 04/02/2014. The surgery went well. I would like to compliment him and his staff for their professionalism, courtesy, and kindness to me and my wife. It has been a week and my life so far has seen a great improvement with less pain and ease of mobility thus far. Hopefully it will continue to be so. I have mentioned DR. Bean to my friends, family and other social contacts with a most favorable rating. Thank you.
