Biography

Dr. Chris Michael is board-certified in neurological surgery and has been in private practice since 2001. He has a patient centered philosophy and takes time to understand and work together with his patients on an individual basis. After graduating from Duke University and Baylor College of Medicine, he went on to complete neurosurgical residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston as well. Minimally invasive spinal surgery at Methodist Hospital for Surgery in Addison is a focal point for his practice. At Methodist in Addison, he has served as Chairman of the board of managers. Dr. Michael has also served as the director of the state-of-the-art neurosurgical operating facilities at Baylor University Medical Center. Minimally invasive spine surgery, such as outpatient treatment of lumbar and cervical herniated discs, is Dr. Michael's specialty. Dr. Michael’s expertise also includes complex spine reconstruction, microsurgery for tumors of the brain and spine, and pituitary surgery. He additionally has an active radiosurgery practice treating brain and spine tumors.
