I had a Total left Hip Replacement on 7/18/2023 performed by Dr. Star. The surgery went well and was routine. It is exactly one month later and I walked 2 miles today without the necessity of a walker. My new hip feels great. There is still some mild swelling but it gets better every day. I have to thank Dr. Star's entire staff, including the nurses that cared for me at Lansdale Hospital. I had never had surgery in my life, I was petrified of having a Hip Replacement. I actually tried to walk off the table in the O.R. and almost ripped out my catheter. I have to thank Dr. Romano, the Anesthesiologist, who gave me a sedative and talked me back on the table. The surgery went well and I woke up in Recovery and went home the same day. Recovery at home has been uneventful except I had a mild skin reaction to the iodine surgical prep, and on my good "normal" right knee I noted that the knee cap was red, swollen, and painful. No explanation when I questioned a cause to RN's, PT's, or PA's.

Dr. Star and his staff are beyond compare! I had a total hip replacement and everything went smoothly from start to finish! I didn't experience a moment of pain while staying overnight at the hospital. The aftercare was also excellent. His team was always available to answer any questions I had during my recovery. I would highly recommend Dr. Star!

Very good experience all his staff from check in to the kind and helpful X-ray tech to his ortho fellow (Paul I believe his name was) to his PA(sorry my bad don’t remember her name ) was effigy and nice, funny, knowledgeable. As for dr. Star himself he was great. Listening to me not at all condescending even when he knew I was a nurse ( who everyone knows can be a PIA. Thanks for an all around good visit. They were extremely busy hence the little delays but nothing to be concerned about.

The entire knee replacement process was orderly. I given sufficient information to know what was going to take place from the beginning of the procedure to where I am in my recovery.
