Not only was Dr. Appleton incredibly knowledgeable, but his genuine care for his patients truly shines through. He listened attentively to my concerns and provided personalized recommendations tailored to my needs. His dedication to improving the quality of his patients' sleep is commendable.

I also want to express my gratitude to Susie, the clinic manager, for her exceptional assistance in coordinating my appointment. Her professionalism and friendly demeanor made the scheduling process seamless and stress-free.

Overall, I highly recommend Dr. Appleton's sleep clinic to anyone in need of expert care for sleep-related issues. With Dr. Appleton's expertise and Susie's efficient management, you can trust that you're in good hands. Thank you, Dr. Appleton and Susie, for providing such outstanding service!

My experience with the Appleton clinic for a sleep disorder was gold standard! Right from the get go, Susie was professional, timely amd value added in her responses and Lynne (who was my sleep tech) couldn’t have been more thoughtful, attentive and knowledgeable… she made the whole experience better than I could have expected! My consult with Dr Appleton was concise, informative and I felt listened to… more than I can say than a lot of experiences as a patient. Although, I’m still on the journey to a better sleep, I feel I’m in great hands! Kudos

Finding DrAppleton was a God send. My brainstem injury did not allow my brain to shut off for 31/2 years post MVA. Crap was urgent and a way high dose of trazadone from the measly 50mg that did nothing to help by my FD. Such a relief to actually sleep since. He’s amazing with knowledge of neuro sleep disorders. Follow up every 2 years. Staff wonderful. One had her quirks but very professional.
I would and have passed on his name for recommendation as a friend who had a friend who talked him up so got the info for me. This person apparently had no good investigation from a regular sleep Center who also had brain damage too. I rarely give out all 5’s for anything but I’m not exaggerating the help and helpfulness I’ve received. I read one disgruntled comment or upset that he couldn’t get the prescription. Regulations are they have to be sent to a qualified breathing company then you can have transferred to your preferred place if wanting to change. I’m looking for a new place so have to find the new place first as said they couldn’t send to my rehab OT.
For telephone contacts there is a 2 hr window which is not unreasonable through Covid for a busy practitioner.
Be assured as a life long RPN your in good caring hands. Greatful this Toronto boy keeps his clinic going going between Florida and here. He could have just closed shop here but didn’t.

Dr. Appleton is an incredibly bright, knowledgeable, and attentive doctor. Although he specializes in sleep health, he uses his vast breadth of medical knowledge to identify the issue and any contributing factors. Thinking "outside the box", he requested some additional testing beyond what had already been recommended to me, and discovered an issue which would likely not have been found otherwise. I feel very grateful to have found this level of care in a doctor.

The staff are rude and not helpful. They didn't give me my prescription, they said they will send it to a place to get the CPAP, it was CPAP Direct. I told them I would prefer to find my own place to get one and they still refused to give me the prescription. Dr. Appleton was more than an hour late for my appointment. This place is corrupt. Don't ever go there.

He's really one of the best doctors I've ever had. He has great emotional intelligence and bedside manners, and he's good at what he does. If you can have him as a sleep doctor you'd be really lucky.

I went to the Appleton Clinic for an overnight stay which was quite different from the first time I was there. The technician this time tried to be helpful but couldn't communicate very well. I arrived at 9 o'clock and was prepared for the study. Before preparing for sleep, I took two strong sleeping pills. The different masks and pressure had to be adjusted a few times, and from 10 o'clock on I was still unable to sleep. I called the technician, who was very attentive, several times to adjust the mask and air pressure. At around three o'clock I again called her to take two more strong sleeping pills only then I finally fell asleep. I was awoken at 5 am. From 10 pm to 5am I believe I was asleep for one hour. Overall I was very unhappy with the level of customer service; since I received my report only after several stressful phone calls were made.
Due to this whole experience, particularly the customer service, I changed my mind to purchase a new unit and would not go back to that establishment again. In fairness however, I have to say that after speaking with Dr. Appleton twice by phone, he is a real gentleman with a kind character.

Get a coffee it's a long one . . . . . So the staff I dealt with was very nice, the desk staff and then the night time nurse were kind and friendly. The doctor himself was the WORST. At my intake appt prior to my sleep study he talked for an hour about himself, how he lives in Florida half the time and Ontario the other half, what his office is like in Florida and the beds they use there vs the beds they use here, how many degrees he has, how he has been to numerous conferences as a sleep expert, how people come up to him all the time to praise his name, how he has 2 daughters etc. NON STOP about himself. I am there for a sleep study not your life story, you're suppose to be a doctor and LISTEN to your patients. When he finally starting asking me about my sleep issues he was trying to fit me into a BOX and only wanted yes or no answers. When I tried to give him more than a yes or a no (as my sleep issues were not fitting into his box of questioning), he just said that doesn't matter next question. I have done several sleep studies, they are not an enjoyable nights sleep with wires attached to you, not something I want to have to repeat over and over again cause the doctor can't listen and do his job. It was such a waste of time cause he never SHUT UP to listen to why I was actually there or what issues I was having, which were: day time exhaustion, having to nap a lot, sleeping too much and extreme difficulties waking up. The night I arrived the night nurse was very nice, she put the wires on me and hooked me up. I informed her that I had a project due the next day and I was going to work on it a bit in bed before I went to sleep. I worked on it from 10:30 pm to 12:30 am, asked the nurse to unhook me at 12:30 to go to the bathroom and then was back in bed and fell asleep by 12:35 am according to the report - 5 minutes was all it took for me to fall asleep. I am a very deep sleeper, I sleep through fire alarms normally but that night, all night long my skin felt like it was on fire where the electrodes were, I woke up a lot and was scratching like crazy. I told the night nurse in the morning that I was itching like crazy and it felt like my skin was burning where they had used the gell to attach the electrodes. She said she would note that in the chart but for me to also put that in the exit survey they have you fill out before you leave. I had red patches on me from where the electrodes were for a few days. When I came back for the follow up appt to get the results the doctor told me I had insomnia . . . . he said that it took me over 2 hours to fall asleep from 10:30 pm to 12:35 am . . . . NOPE remember I was working on a project and the night nurse had noted that in the chart, so apparently he doesn't read charts/reports either. Then he said I was up tossing and turning all night so I have insomnia and just need a good nights sleep. I told him about the gell from the electrodes and that I had a reaction to it and that it was not a normal night for me at all. He said that was impossible . . . yet I am allergic to a chemical that is in a lot of items people use daily (hand creams, gum etc.) so no not impossible at all, actually when I looked it up the gell contained that chemical. I got annoyed and told him he wasn't listening to why I was there, this was such a HUGE waste of time, he was just throwing random things out there and not helping me. So he got upset and said fine whats the problem. I explained why I had come for a sleep study in the first place and he started TALKING over me every chance he got. Then just randomly said ok fine you have hypersomnia happy?! If you can get a referral to go anywhere else I would, save yourself the hassle.

I have been seeing Dr Appleton for some time now. Initially, he was very engaged and helpful, which allowed me to overlook the rude behaviour of the “office manager.” There is no way that this woman should ever come in contact with the public. Over the last year or so, Dr Appleton has become disinterested and unfocused during my appointments. I have recently changed doctors as it is not worth the effort to get to the clinic.
