My husband and I visited emergency because our opthamologist had order an IV steroid be administered for three days because of eye deterioration and optic nerve swelling causing sight impairment. He grilled us for 10 minutes about the strength of this drug, asked us what it was for, what was his sight reading (20/20, 20/80 etc). We did not know as it all happened rapidly and timing was critical for treatment. He put us in a room and continued to “test” my husbands eye sight. After several minutes, he DECIDED to go ahead with the prescription that had been sent by our opthamologist. This was very upsetting considering we were already reeling from the information we were facing. I find Dr. Meek to be very rude, inconsiderate and could use some help in his bedside manner that he demonstrated!!! Very unprofessional to say the least!

I had to make multiple trips to Emerge with my newborn. He took his time to listen and when he thought that we had to wait too long for our CHEO appointment he called to find out if there was anyway to get the appointment faster.

A few months later took the time to call us at home when to let us know test results and that our xray had be given a 2nd look.

Dr. Meek is by far the best ER doctor I've seen in North Bay. He was kind, he actually took the time to listen to my concerns and ask questions, and truly appeared to care about my situation. He seriously seems to care about people alot more than the other ER doctors I've seen. Dr. Meek, you were truly remarkable in your patient care. Thank you thank you thank you!!

Saw this Doctor in the ER.
Waiting 9 hours for him to claim my hand was not broken just to be called back and told it was in fact broken in two places and I may need orthopaedic surgery to repair it after having it sit that long.
He also tried to prescribe narcotics for pain and was in shock when I said no thank you.
Just awful.

Absolutely awesome doctor. My son had a really bad infected toenail and as soon as Dr. Meek seen how the toenail looked , he right away new what needed done. He is Efficient and great bedside manner from start to finish. The nurse Kim that was also there is awesome too. My son felt comfortable and left with a smile on his face because of their kindness.

Literally, best ER Dr. I've ever had! Friendly, knowledgeable, and actually cared about my thoughts and feelings. Was truly interested in my case (seemed excited that it was a bit complicated) and kept asking more questions. He helped me both physically and mentally (by assuring me that my symptoms weren't all "in my head") and made me feel valued as a human being. I can't even begin to express my gratitude and relief. This guy is smart, and doesn't fool around. I went to the ER with shortness of breath where a chest xray showed a pneumothorax. He put a chest tube in and I felt better immediately. He knew exactly what to do and talked me through every step. Efficient and great bedside manner from start to finish.

if you get him at emerge, consider yourself lucky. the best doctor there that actually wants to help. has helped my mother several times when other doctors were scared to due to her complicated health history. also informed her of medical services available that are not advertised nor discussed, which have really helped her. Thanks Dr Meek, you're great
