I had to reschedule an appointment and as a result, was given yet another different doctor. This doctor does not believe in taking pain meds. As a result, even though he said I had the option to not go along with his treatment plan, he recommended to my actual physician to cut my meds in half. So, now, even though this man has only spoken to me once, I have been forced to ration out my pain meds so that they will last me the month. I have been a patient here for over 10 years and have always been made to feel like a drug seeking junkie. I have a long, well documented history of chronic pain. But now, according to this new man, I don't need pain meds. It's all in my head. So, apparently, I am to spend the remainder of my life with zero quality of life and remain bed ridden.

In the 4 yrs I have been going to this practice, I have yet to even lay eyes on the Dr. I see one of a long line of PAs and nurses who seem to know very little except how to be rude and condescending.. They do not listen when you try to tell them that your meds are not working, instead they treat you like some drug addict trying to trick them out of drugs. I have never done drugs to get high, illegal or otherwise. It took me over 2 years of going to one specialst after the other to finally get my diagnosis. I have a medical file that is over 1 foot thick and my condition is well documented. In the 4 years I have been going to this clinic, they have not managed to "manage my pain" which is supposed to be their speciality! I am in chronic pain 24/7 365 days per year and spend many days lying on my bed in the fetal position wishing I was dead because I cant stand the pain anymore and can't get the help I need just to be able to function.

The doctor may be fine but his staff are deplorable. At least one of them, I shouldn't cast all of his staff into the cesspool because of one rude and unprofessional nurse. Granted, they have to be on alert for drug seekers but someone like myself who has MRI's,x-rays and established medical history of chronic pain should not be subjected to treatment reserved for drug addicts and second class citizens. Being in chronic pain 24/7 is bad enough without being subjected to nurses with bad attitudes, unprofessionalism, skeptism, and callousness. But I will inform the doctor on my next face to face meeting with him. I need the service he provides but I do not need or deserve the behavior of uncaring and indifferent nurses.

I have been seeing Dr. Dayton-Jones for 11 years for chronic pain. I had seen others but Dr. Dayton-Jones was the first to really listen, believe me, and help me. He is there for his patients and even allows you to call him at home. I would and have recommended him to anyone that needs his services. I will not even see another pain management specialist. He has always been able to help me. If I did not want a procedure he suggested he explains why he feels it is needed but lets you make the final decision. He is caring, professional, and understanding. There is no one any better than he in the Salisbury, Md. area. Sometimes you may have to wait for your appointment but you know that when it is your turn that he will take his time with you and never make you feel rushed. You know that you are important to him and he will do whatever it takes to help you manage your pain. He has literally saved me and continues to be there for me. Without his care my life would be useless and lost.

Dr DJ listens, is an excellent diagnostician, very thorough, personable and caring. I know many other patients that see him and all are absolutely thrilled with his care. Pain management can be a difficult specialty but Dr DJ just what you need when you are hurting.
